Been at work, didn't see the game but nearly pissed my pants when I heard we'd collapsed again.

Know what? And I can't believe I'm saying this but we have to keep collapsing all the way throughout August. That stubborn old git has to get it into his thick skull that you can't just rely on quality players going forward. 6 years on and he still believes that his Arsenal teams will always outscore the opposition and that quality expensive defenders are not needed. That's fine in the perfect world where you convert all of your chances but quality strikers have off days too and you can't rely on that philophosy.

OK, I may be jumping the gun and behind the scenes deals may be being done defensively, I don't know, but it is reaching the stage where I want the fans to turn on Wenger in the ground so that he starts to get the message that enough is enough.
I hear he got a huge cheer today........I want us to collapse again tomorrow, preferably with Henry getting a couple, and again next week and then maybe another 4-4 on the opening day. This big headed, I know best Frenchman has got 4 weeks to change. :banghead:

We won't finish top 4, Wenger will have to go. It's just a shame that this *word censored* can put us into an almighty pile of shit and then just walk away, but that's what will happen. This season will be awful.

It's inevitable that a person is going to make the same mistakes if he won't even acknowledge that he's made a mistake in the first place!! :banghead: :banghead:

When people used to claim 2 or 3 years back that we'd never win another trophy under Wenger, I just didn't believe them or think that such a thing would be possible. I thought they were being both harsh and rash with that judgement. I have to say that I'm now reluctantly starting to think the same way, because it appears that lessons just aren't being learnt.

Even worse than that, my dissolution with Arsenal has begun affecting my enjoyment of football in general, and last season I hardly saw any other matches not involving us. In the past I've always been keen on doing so because I was a fan of football and I'd watch almost any game going a while back. Nowadays, I can be barely find the motivation as it will only end up reminding me of our own short-comings.

To be honest I'm just so sick of it all I can hardly even be bothered to continue moaning as much as is warranted. Who would have thought a few years back that a lover of art like Wenger would end up causing so much disappointment and despair, whilst making me long for the days of the artisan?

Does anyone know what the attendance was for yesterday? I've looked on .com and can't see it anywhere (or SKY) as there is no mention of it on .com I can only assume it was a poor one and they don't want it advertised too much??? :?

I know people are [understandably] focusing on the fact that we let another lead slip AGAIN due to more sloppy defending (surprise, surprise) but the only nugget of consolation I can offer is that the back 5 that conceded those shocking goals was Traore, Squillaci, Djourou, Jenkinson and Mannone... now, by my reckoning, NONE of those are first teamers (Traore and Jenkinson are backup full backs, Mannone is 3rd choice keeper, and the 2 who fucked up the most - Squillaci and Djourou - SHOULD be down to 4th and 5th choice centre backs come the end of August)

On a positive note, Wilshere really seems to be stepping up, and Gervinho looks a very good signing.

I see your nugget of consolation g88ner, and raise you a dose or reality.

Our first choice defence over the last couple of years has hardly been commanding, so this looks more like a pattern throughout the club.

Yes, Traore won't be playing, instead Gibbs so, phew, dodging a bullet there  :) and the problem is with all this 3rd, 4th, 15th choice bollocks is that it is bollocks. This is a long season where these guys will play a lot of games (as has been proved), and if you have quality then the back up needs to be as close to that as possible.

Unfortuntely, Wenger has been systematically dumbing down the team, in that rather than rasing the standards of the back-up players, the first choice players are much closer to squicuntci standard.

:suicide:

I know, I know :(

Gibbs really could be a disaster - I hope not, but I'm not convinced he's a defender. He plays like a winger, and defends like one too from what I've seen :?

Sagna is a defender though, and so is Vermaelen. I just hope that whichever overrated centre back we sign (be it Jagielka  Cahill  or Samba ) isn't as underwhelming and error prone as I expect them to be.

As for our young Polish 'keeper.... who knows. Will he progress? or will it be second season syndrome? - I'm just not convinced, with such a young first choice, that we've seen the end of the whole goalkeeper fiasco just yet :?

Anyway, have to stay positive until the inevitable shit hits the fan I suppose. Must stay positive. :?

My sentiments too IHH. Feels like when you've been married for 27 years and you start to realise you don't love her anymore.

WE MUST NOT WIN TODAY :(

At one point they said,(on ESPN), that 53,000 tickets had been sold for the day,but they didn't give an actual attendance figure.I watched on T.V. and there seemed to be a few spaces around the ground.....along with two gaping holes in the Arsenal defence!!!
Today on ESPN,Wenger put Arsenals poor performance down to fatigue!!!
Two other things. Why the fuck did he give Nasri the armband, and will someone please wipe that smug smirk off Fabregas's face!!!

ESPN commentators also mentioned the fact that 2,000 season ticket holders had decided not to renew.
