Press Conference tomorrow 0900 hrs

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Didn’t see the conference but reading stuff like this makes me cringe for Wenger. Slowly but surely losing the plot.

Going to the Udinese game and the Liverpool game with one eye baying for some kind of 'fans demonstration' but with all the AKB's there will be serious fighting/scuffles between people expressing their opinions and the blind faith mob.....last year I witnessed some real tension between fans and this year WILL be a lot worse.
It WILL NOT however, stop me from letting the board, manager & players know that ENOUGH is ENOUGH

On signing players

"It's not as easy as everyone thinks it is..."

Nope - when you're about to land youself £60m in transfer fees, it must take forever to find the club phone line for Bolton Wanderers and say "Dear Chairman, we'd like to buy Gary Cahill for £17m"

The Bolton chairman, with his club over £80m in debt, ponders the situation for 3 seconds...."shall I lose my only saleable asset for nothing next year or sell him now and shave more than 20% off our debt"

Yep, it must take forever to work on deals like that

fuck off wenger
Don't let it get to you like that, I am going to isolate myself from my love of Arsenal as best I can until Wenger goes, and rest assured he will go before the end of the season. I am going to get my fix by watching him squirm and suffer at the hands of the gutter press for the way he has dragged us into that very same gutter.

Some of the criticism on here is so OTT as to just be plain ridiculous.

Wenger wants to sign a centre back that will IMPROVE the team. Djourou and Koscielny are not world class defenders but they are far from shit and would get in the majority of first teams in the Prem.

Therefore finding better replacements to them is NOT easy. Everton want 20 million for a fairly decent 29 year old CB. Just say Wenger pays this ridiculous fee. What happens when it turns out that, in reality, he's hardly much of an improvement on a Djourou or Koscielny, as would likely happen? Oh well, we can always sell him on after a couple of seasons making sporadic appearnace. Oh wait - now you've got an average, 31 year old CB who you can perhaps sell onto a bottom of the table side for 3 or 4 million tops. Great bit of business, then.

Back in the real world, Arsenal - with our horrible defence and useless attack - finish in the top 4 every season, whilst moving into a new ground and being outspent by the new teams on the block (City and Chelsea) by an absolute fortune.

Take out the Monopoly money out of football and only Man Utd finish above Arsenal over the last ten years with any kind of regularity.

Finding a new manager isn't going to enable us to suddenly compete with the Chelsea's and City's of this world financially. If and when we drop out the top 4 that would be the moment for Wenger to hand in his notice.

I'm as frustrated as anyone at the lack of trophies and end of season implosions, but actually wanting your team to lose so your manager gets sacked is crazy. According to the bookies, Arsenal are one of four teams with some kind of hope of beating Man Utd to 1st place this year. So how about getting behind the team?

I am seriously considering to not drive 700 miles round trip tomorrow and do the garden instead.

I was seriously expecting something positive from this press conference, but as already stated by many it was and is a shambles.

I will see every game in August including Udinese away and will spend a couple of grand in the process....all for what? Because I love the club so much but yet the club is like the bitch you wanna fuck every night but she tells you that she requires more....like leave the wife....alas she is coming to Newcastle for her first ever game.......oh my poor me

I've had enough of being treated like a fucking idiot.
As I said, it has to stop now :banghead:
You've got what is known as "revolutionary defeatism", whereby Russian communists wanted to lose the first world war because it would further the cause of the revolution because the old leaders would be discredited.

This man will desreve no sympathy from anyone in football let alone Arsenal. I am going to revel in each and every article and in the words of Elvis Costello "when they finally put her (him) in the ground they'll stand there laughing and tramp the dirt down"
100% agree with this. The press finally scrutinising his performance & slating him for it was always the key to pushing a lot of the sheep off the fence head first. The snowball effect is pretty much past the point of no return already. Cant see any way the shit's not about to hit the fan Cantona style.

That comment made me laugh as well - it also shows that Wenger will probably be cheered to the rafters by many, many people at the first home games.

Djourou and Koscielny are poor defenders, both prone to lapses in concentration and neither man is in any way a commanding figure. They may well get in several Premier League sides but is that really good enough for Arsenal????

Christ that sounds like an awkward gangbang. Wonder which one of them took Diana up the tunnel?! :?

Oops... I forgot.... Lt. Danny Velinski was also there, probably him.. :barscarf:

I knew there had to have been someone else there to take her up the Parisian tunnel.

Could never have been Elvis, poor sod always "dies" on the shitter.

Lucan's obviously more of a nose-deep in the bush type of fella, hence the 'tache.

Jacko would have been too busy spanking his monkey, and anal goes against Wenger's belief that everyone should be a tight-arse.

:barscarf:

The only teams in the premiership they would get into would be ones that were struggling at the foot of the table... I used to like Djourou when he first came into the side, but his progress has stagnated and now regressed through injuries and bad coaching.... he is now one shit player, who should only be used as a back up in dire times.

Koscielny... 10 million for an unproven centre back... got caught out many times last season (in the sending offs against Blackburn... and another at home game) normally saves his best games against teams that play football... like Barca at home... but would Wenger had spent that kind of money, these days, on a promising English centre half??? Wenger would rather plough our money back into his own nationality's league as has been proven time and time again...
