I think Eboue wasn't a bad utility player. He deserves a mention, he isn't Cesc, but throughout his time at Arsenal, it can be said that he was indeed a selfless servant to our club. He was seldom the best player on the pitch, but he never failed to give 100%, was involved in every celebration even when on the bench, and just an all around positive person to have in the dressing room. I remember when we lost to Birmingham in the Carling Cup final, Eboue was out there picking everyone up, i remember vividly him comforting Wilshire as he cried after that heartbreaking loss. Even when he was booed and replaced by the manager a couple of seasons ago, he never turned his back on Arsenal. I have much respect for him and wish him the very best at Galatasaray.SPUDMASHER wrote:I hope he does well. He was never good enough for us but I think he always tried hard.
I do have to say though, thank fuck I won't ever have to watch him in an Arsenal shirt ever again.
Farewell clown! Please ask the Turks if they need a goalie too!

My point is he did the job as best as he could when called upon - I agree he is not arsenal quality but the flak that he got from some so called fans was not right toomarcengels wrote:What a man...staying at out club selflessly all those years.
If only there were more people in the world prepared to put up with living in London, playing for a huge club, always involved in the Champions league, with a huge wage packet - then the world would be a better place.
Have to say I agree with piresistible on this one, though glad he will never play for us again, there are many more, more deserving of abuse than Eboue.piresistible wrote:My point is he did the job as best as he could when called upon - I agree he is not arsenal quality but the flak that he got from some so called fans was not right toomarcengels wrote:What a man...staying at out club selflessly all those years.

Mind you that might still be difficult because he's been about as useful as dead meat for the past 4 years anyway.

I gotta say I respect players like him, Bendtner, Denlison and even Almunia (whatever's happening with him) that they are looking to leave though. It would be easy for them to sit on their backside, pick up a great wage and play a few games every year without too much pressure, but they're going to other clubs to get more games.
