Since we are also including AW excuses then how's about this one, in response to Cesc wanting to move to Barca (he said this four weeks ago):

Some idiots are now laughably claiming the Spanish supercopa 'doesn't count as a trophy'

Amaze me really some fans. They will re-invent history to absolve papa Wenger! So lemme get this right; according to AW and the AKBs, the Spanish supercopa isn't actually a trophy, the Carling cup does not count as a trophy, the FA Cup is not really a trophy either since we field pathetic teams.....

Top 4 though, now finishing 4th there is the achievement! And all done on a shoestring budget (aka a wage bill of £112 million)

lots of these are fair enough
but supercups, community shields and other half pre-season games are not 'proper' trophies
and has anyone seriously said 20 years without any trophy is fine?
