Which Striker would you sign for Arsenal

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

If we had money, and ambition.

It would always have been Eto'o. Born Winner, Top level finisher, appreciation for team mates, loves to shoot and good at it too! :barscarf:

He would have been the replacement for Henry all those years ago, if he didnt play for barca and we were still an ambitious club.

I might sound outrageously stupid, but if we want a short term experienced striker, how about Di Natale? I dont watch Serie A, and I know he is getting on a bit, but he is a very good player. I dont think he would want to leave Italy.

KALOU??? DEFOE??! Sorry but Defoe is shit. Not quite as shit as Chamakh of course, but shit nevertheless. How about Nilmar of Villareal? Top quality player, quick as hell and despite beign tiny has proven he can lead the line.
*Aguero woulda been ideal though*

As a short term thing I would be well happy with forlan up front alongside rvp

As a longer term thing darren bent would be a great signing with his pace and goals record (except at the scum but then you wouldnt expect a Gooner to try his best for those *word censored* would you ? )

Benzema would be good but tbh I am not sure I support the idea of signing another french player at the mo

Not stupid at all.Top goalscorer in Italy. And he works his nuts off.But Wenger wouldnt sign him because of his age and his name isnt Silvestre

Podolski is decent but can't help but seeing him as a poor man's RVP?

Well that's fine, if we're only playing one up front he can sit on the bench and be a poor man's RVP. Not that he would sign to sit on a bench.

But I think he's very good.
