As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Great, don't spend 25 million on a proven striker like cavani, sign a 2nd rate striker from a French league two side
1. You've never seen the bloke play.
Anyone else find it amusing that Irish Gooner is telling IrishGooner that he never seen him play. The forum version of watching someone talking to themselves.

2. Cavani is not all that, and anyway isnt worth 30m it would cost to sign. We were never interested.
Lets just give the bloke a chance, hes a SQUAD PLAYER along with hopefully Joel Campbell, Afobe and Chamakh and possibly Walcott.
He's not a big name but he is very good player.
Something is wrong here when I'm the most positive person. People need to fucking chill, everyone moans about Bentdner Vela and Chamakh and new signings, then we sign a bloke nobodays seen, he is written off.
Chill people.
To be fair, I'm not writing the little corean off but Cavani IS "all that" and IS worth 30 Mil. Plus Cavani IS ten times the player Park is now.
What bothers me with this signing is that it's a typical Wenger signing: No risk at all!
We won't expect the same from a 3 Mil Ligue2 signing than if we signed 30 Mil Serie A cavani for example! And Wenger knows this!

It would except that one of them is called ''IrishGunner''
I certainly ain't knocking him, I just ain't came across him ever before.
The youtube video is encouraging and as we see regularly, big name signings sometimes can't hit a barn door. Perhaps the fact that he's not a household name in europe will make him work harder for the team.

£2m pounds is a steal really. Talk of Ligue 2 player is not right, they got relegated with Monaco he scored 12 league goals last season, not highly prolific but still good. He is easily worth 4 times that only they were relegated. Pissed off Lille no doubt in the process.
For everyone who doesnt rate Vela (I dont), thinks Chamakh has turned rubbish (everyone) and with Bendtner leaving, this is a GOOD SIGNING.
Lets just have some patience for ONCE AND GET BEHIND HIM.
Fucking stupid people rubbishing him when they never seen him kick a ball.....
Agreed here with everything. Although it may be a bad move if we piss Lille off and miss out on Hazard as a result

Probably why Wenger has done it... Hazard would obviously cost a hell of alot more, although Wenger will put in a silly underbid of 5 million just for the sake of it..
So wait, while we are trying to sign Hazard from Lille... we go behind them and steal one of the players they had already made agreements with!
Wow, those manangers at Arsenal are just business geniuses aren't they?! Lille are gonna be best pals with us now!
Just goes to show that Wenger/board only say this kind of shit to keep most fans hopeful about the transfer window so they don't make too much noise during the period.
When we the transfer window finishes they will have the 'we tried' excuses ready.

Exactly Flash, we're just doing a Barcelona but on a scale about 5 levels down, just goes to show how far we've fallen...

I don't think we ever were in the race for Hazard. If we were, why steal the player they would've eventually taken to replace him?

I like talking with myself, the conversation is usually better and more agreeable
