Refund for away fans

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I got an email today. Will get a refund of money within 14days, rather than a ticket 4 a future away game.

Interesting! So straight refund, no offer of another ticket?

Sorry it was sent to my work email address! I was surprised by the mail, it definitely stated I would receive a refund by the same method I purchased my ticket. And within 14days. I don't know if the fact I had to buy a £52 ticket has made any difference.

On behalf of everyone at Arsenal Football Club, we want to thank you for your fantastic continued support which was highlighted at Old Trafford on Sunday 28th August. We understand the result was disappointing for everyone connected with the Club and in recognition of your unwavering commitment throughout the entire game, we would like to offer you a token of appreciation, equivalent to the amount paid for your ticket purchased through Arsenal Football Club's Membership Scheme. You will be credited in the same way in which you purchased your match ticket within 14 days of receipt of this correspondence. May we take this opportunity to thank you once again for your magnificent support and passion for Arsenal Football Club as we focus on the season ahead. If you have any further enquiries, please call the Arsenal Contact Centre on +44 (0)20 7619 5000. Yours sincerely, The Arsenal Box Office

That's a lot better than getting a ticket for an unattractive midweek game which you cannot make. Fu*king hell common sense from the club

May go some small way to repaying that 6% increase in our ST.

While we're on it, can someone explain to me why they added on the 6% increase when there is clearly a massive surplus of cash from the summers transfer dealings?

Because they can!

TBF, on this one i doubt that has much to do with the GIC, more of a marketing and Gazidas thing. Probably lots of pie charts invovled.

What I don't understand is surely bums on seats means more footfall in club shops, and more overpriced food being sold.

If they don't get a full house they start to lose two fold, so six percent not turning up would surely cost 10% or more match day revenue?

marketing wise surely best to have full house, just put 15p on a pint or something then those who can afford it will still buy it.
