As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Cesc's relationship with Arsenal was like the following:
You meet an unbelievably good-looking MILF at the age of 16. She takes you home, lets you fuck her day and night and makes you her boyfriend. Then once she's introduced you to all her mates, she puts on 6 stone, refuses to put out anymore and has you clean the house and cook the dinner every night. Meanwhile your mates are all now 23 and are fucking supermodels and doing loads of charlie in the best clubs in the world.
Do you stay loyal, or do you tell the fat slag that you're finished with her and you're off to Ibiza with the lads?

That had me pissing myself with laughter Frank!! Have you met my wife???? And it's so true - anyone that slags Cesc off is barking up the wrong tree. He wasn't the problem, the manager is the problem!!

Hey Frank, you've met my ex then?
Not sure mate. I've met a few ladies recently.....
Fabregas, is a top class player and bloke, I have no qualms about his exit.
In my opinion he is also a legend of this club, like Liam Brady his situation in quality, trophies won and exit was very similar.
It may take 5 years or even 10 years, but I believe he will be recognised as an Arsenal legend in years to come, like many of our ex players, it a timeline after they leave for recognition.
As for the article , you cant argue with anything said there.

Ha ha.
Cesc gaves 100% effort to us. His motivation went when he saw he was swimming against the tide. Wenger is to blame for surrounding him with shite.

Err, that was no lady that was my ex ........... (fill in what you like)
I think we always knew this was the reason Cesc left and i don't blame him in fact good luck to him and i regard him as one the many exceptional players to grace our red and White. It was a known fact that he wanted to return to Barca but visioned under better circumstances and considering he arrived at a Arsenal which was bristling with players like Pires,The Iceman,Henry etc all he expected was continued success.
What he got was a manager who instilled in the squad that a C/L spot is success, regarding the two cups are irritable distractions,non-existent tactic's,false promises, lies, blatant squad weakness being ignored, seeing top quality players leave and being replaced by at best average and injury prone players and seeing these same players being rewarded for failure with lucrative long contracts,No motivation....basically he played for a wanker of a manager for 8yrs.Cesc is ambitous Wenger isn't.....
The way he forced the move will always leave a bad taste too.
I think you'll find Wenger talked the board into letting him go, they didn't want to sell so cheap. When the ship is sinking, why should you hang around just because a bunch of losers are going down with it. It would be a travesty for someone of Cescs class to waste his career at a club going nowhere. I totally understand both Cesc and Nas wanting to go and don't blame either of them.
Gooners need to face facts, we are a mid-sized club with limited resource and even more limited ambition. Not the stuff to attract top players sadly.
Cesc is a world class talent, and a good bloke. He was surrounded with B class players, and saw no way forward.
I think he might have stayed for another year or two had things been different. My guess is that when he saw the writing on the wall he wanted out last season. AW may have brokered a gentleman's agreement with him. Stay one more season (judge me in May ) and if you still want to go to...then I will make sure it happens (proper fee or not).

We quit on him not the other way round.
Never a truer word has been spoken on this board.
I can't believe the many Cesc haters on here. Cesc has carried our team for the last 6 years. If I was in his position, I would have bought myself out of my contract, not just to join Barcelona, but just to get away from Arsenal, who seriously don't seem to have any ambition any more. I still love the club, but I really feel we can move forward by just getting rid of Arsene Wenger at the moment. I really feel AW is at the root of our problem. I hope he can prove me wrong though, but I won't be holding my breath for that
big shame, he loved arsenal and desperately wanted to win trophies with us.
But life gave him a choice, stay at arsenal competiting with a small damp stick against rifles and bazookas of city and utd.
Or take and we accept an easier option, and play with the best equipped team in the world, where you'll be wanted and will win trophies.
Arsenal were being left behind at all levels, and he had his career to think about, this wasn't like barca going 6 years without a trophy. The prognosis in england was you need serious cash to win the PL or the CL, and that serious cash does not look like coming.
Henry left us for the CL, and we dont slate him, so no chance i'll slate Cesc. Henry played in teams much much stronger than this one.
The way he forced the move will always leave a bad taste too.

And what was the reason for Wenger telling the board to let him go? Yep that's right, Fabregas himself saying he doesn't want to be here anymore. It's not like Wenger decided to sell Fabregas against his will, the player wanted to leave and the manager had no option but to tell the board to let him go.
