I think a 5 game ban would sufice. Aliadiere has been banned for 3 games for caressing someones cheek so a studs up lunge deserves more punishment surely.
I think anything less than 6 games is a slap in the faces of footballers everywhere and tells the thugs that you break someone's leg in a reckless tackle, say that is was just mis-timed, have all your mates tell the world how much of a victim you are and get a poxy 3 game ban.

anything longer than 3 games will get the journos and talk sport hosts up in arms and talking about this until the next leap year.
