I've got a season ticket , silver and red too , and remember a couple of times using my red for aways, was able to drag a couple of mates along, Wigan and Blackburn I think.
You'd be surprised how many away games go to silver and red.

no I haven't been to every home game this season - that is why I am a red member. It gives me the option of when I want to go.

but if ST holders don't go to every game either then why are they not red members too? as you say you can go to every home game now anyway so it is becoming worthless to have a ST I would have thought.

also I like sitting in different parts of the ground which you can't do as a ST holder.

A lot of Season Ticket holders would like to be Silver members, but aren't given the option.............

HAving a Season Ticket also gives me the option of which games to go to. I go to all of them, but why do I necessarily have to?????????????

Are you on the Season Ticket waiting list? Honest answer please. If you are, then you are as bad as a Season Ticket holder not going.

good point about the ST holders not being able to downgrade to silver.
that is a disgrace although it would affect me as I am on the silver membership waiting list and have been for 7 years.

I have never been on a ST waiting list because I knew I wouldn't get to all the games.

my main problem is with people who have a ST in the lower tier and don't go.
if for example a ST holder has a lower tier seat and doesn't go that is 1 less seat available to red members/general sale. More importantly it may mean that those wanting to buy a ticket may be forced into buying a more expensive ticket in the upper tier. I think that is fucking disgraceful.

To be fair, I have plenty of pals who if they can't go, will sell it on, or take a ridiculous offer. I was on holiday for Udinese and Liverpool, and I gave the ticket away for free. You wouldn't believe how difficult it is to flog a season ticket for face value at the moment. Some people just can't get rid of them. It is also an unbelievable amount of hassle to find someone trustworthy, and to get the ticket dropped off and returned. It is also officially illegal and you run the risk of the Club confiscating the ticket. Ticket exchange can be utilised, but the Club take a big management fee and will only give you the money back if you renew the next year. You don't get cash, in other words.

If the Club were grown up about it and offered Silver memberships, a more equitable pricing plan and some real benefits for the loyalty of having a season ticket, they might not have thousands of empty seats at home games.

I would suggest schemes such as the opportunity to donate a season ticket for a local charity to take advantage of. As long as the Club didn't take a slice from it, I'd be quite prepared to give it up for free, if I couldn't go and had no-one wanting it. As usual, though, the Club have got their nose in the trough and will not be flexible.

That is why the ticket exchange scheme was introduced but when games arent selling out to silver/red/general sale then it doesnt even go to that scheme.

Then season ticket holders who for whatever reasons beyond their control cannot go ie family/work commitments end up just giving them up as they cant get rid of them, in my opinion that is another reason why it is highlighted that more ST holders arent attending as the home games arent selling out to the general public as people dont want to pay silly money.

59 pages and still no sign or date for the banner ??

Come on boys, is it going up or not ? If it doesn't go up at the Bridge then I fear you've lost your chance till the new year

The opportunity has come....................and gone.

Striking while the iron was hot probably would've been the better option rather than the secrecy and mystery surrounding if/when it'll be introduced imo.

Too many people are all happy days now that we've won a few on the trot. Won't be winning any hearts and minds now. Keep the banner in storage for a while longer.

And to be honest, Wenger can stay if we keep winning - all the way to a title.

However, what saddens me is that many fans have become quite happy with our results of late. It hides the fact that we are not, in any capacity, challenging for the Prem. So what if we're doing well now - we bloody well should be against Sunderland, Marseille, Stoke and Bolton - the real point is that this club has enough financial power to consistently be a proper threat to the Premiership, and yet we are not.

If Arsenal came out and said "2011-12 is a season we are aiming to grow our young players and are not expecting to mount a title challenge" I could accept that and would be more than happy to see what Wenger could do with our group. But if they're going to say "we can win the league", I expect to see us be an actual threat... or else, the manager should be held accountable.
