Andre Santos

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Santos is a good passer, will get the odd goal and is a strong tackler.

But for a 28 year old he looks positionally suspect and slow as a snail.

I would welcome a new left back in January because of the recurrent injuries to Gibbs.
Santos can fight for his place, be used in the Carling Cup and lower rounds of the FA Cup, and maybe even play left midfield on occasion if we have injuries in that position.

It would be interesting to see if he would play well in midfield in front of gibbs. Gibbs gets forward a lot more than clichy ever did, they may work well on the overlap, or it may prove suicidal defending...which is far more likely in arsenals case but id like to be proven wrong and wonder if it would work.

What the fuck are you talking about?! His "perfect pass?" All he did is pass it to Ramsey in the middle of the park who was looking right at him for a pass. Ramsey then turned to "set up" our first goal.

Wengernomics: spend money on a left-back but spend it on a fat overweight one because he is cheap. Meaning he is a liability and you have to spend on a new one all over again in the not too distant future.

and i believe he was bought because he can score a goal or 2 too. I like defenders to defend there are plenty of other players on the pitch to score goals just stop the fuckers going in our net

hmmmm defensively he maybe does have a problem.

I see he has been dropped from the Brazilian squad. Hopefully if he puts in more quality performances for Arsenal he will get back in again though.
