The other half and football
Well, I agree if the game is sold out, but obviously if theres still tickets left then its no harmSWLGooner wrote:I know it sounds sexist, but frankly anyone who takes a bird to footy who doesn't really care is a bit of a prick like, it should go to someone, bloke or bird, who would absolutely love to be there.

Mrs Goose follows football and is a Manyoo fan
and had a season ticket up there until the kids came along.
It's not ideal when you have to travel 200+ miles back in a car with her when your team has just been turned over 8-2. The upside is she understands my obsession for The Arsenal but has no interest in coming to the games with me.
It's kid of ideal but I just wished her team was s##t instead of one that is miles better than us.

Re: The other half and football
I'll let my mrs watch motd and games on sky but I don't think I'll take her to the grove, if she ever wants to go to a game really badly I'll take her to see Chelmsford play, thier only around the corner, so that would do her I reckon!MK Gould wrote:Don't trust her mate. She would watch games with me on tv but that was about it!
Well that's all started to change, you see she keeps an eye on scores, no more watching shit films on sky movies when motd is on, sits and watches any of the live games on skysports!
Once upon a time I would of thought this was great, but now I'm not sure? You see football was my get away ha! But now I can't escape to watch the football as she wants in!
Damn she even hates spurs and also hates nasri!
I guess I shouldn't moan about it, she's all good and still manages to add her femaleness in too (she has a thing about dissing players haircuts) ha!
Anyways, anyone else here got a mrs who's into her football??
I knew someone in your position once.....and before he knew it his girlfriend was sharing his season ticket and they were going to alternate games!

I know some of you will find this hard to believe but I brought my lady (not to be edited to ladyboy, you *word censored*
) to the Grove once, she was shocked at how manly some of the women were and if she ever sees youtube vids or MOTD and women are singing or jumping around, she says there should be a block just for women so they don't get involved. Thought that was quite quality

Fuck off, I've been more than once, I've probably been as many games as you havekingjayson1 wrote:I know some of you will find this hard to believe but I brought my lady (not to be edited to ladyboy, you c**ts) to the Grove once, she was shocked at how manly some of the women were and if she ever sees youtube vids or MOTD and women are singing or jumping around, she says there should be a block just for women so they don't get involved. This has just reminded me of a group of couples sitting beside me at the bolton match back in September,i remember so much because of the amount of times i had to move for them . There was about 3 couples, all friends, arrive about 20 mins after kick off, spend the whole time playing with their phones or talking amongst themselves non football related. They then leave well before half time. They arrive back late for the second half and miss a few goals and a sending off i think, continue with their phones and talking and then leave about 10 mins before the end.
What was the fucking point. And it was all them not just the girls. There is no way any of them got any enjoyment from being there. Im lucky if i get to one game a season, i would kill to have those seats week in week out, i still can't understand why they bothered going at all.

Situations like that are for one reason most of the time, it's so they can say that they went to see The Arsenal at the emirates stadium, they more or likely have no interest in football what so ever but it was just a night out for them, I guess that the group visited a fancy restaurant or went to see we will rock you the following week, and you say they where on their phones most of the time, well that would of been updating their Facebook status 'At the emirates stadium watching a game of football ' tagged in status update rupert, malcolm, sue, and so on!!noodlie wrote:This has just reminded me of a group of couples sitting beside me at the bolton match back in September,i remember so much because of the amount of times i had to move for them . I made it known from day one that football will always come first in my life. This way she can't have any complaints because she stayed with me after all.
We even had a football themed wedding!! so she has no excuses.
This doesn't stop her moaning about it though, so she needs the occasional reminder.
Ive taken her to the odd game when i cant get anyone else to go, she don't mind going but would rather have the money to buy some shoes i'm sure.

Maybe sign of the times, after being with the other half for 22 years she came to first every game against Stoke at home. Spare Ticket offered to nephews and others, no takers amongst mainly Arsenal family, 38,000-60000 big difference in in different times, she enjoyed it but I have for 22years how many spare tickets go the same way?
