meeting merse/wenger
Has anyone just been listening to the thick *word censored* on Sky
"I fink wivout the ball Jeff, they are the worst team in the whole country, and I mean through all the leagues" [talking about us]
Like he's watched all 92 teams. The guy is an utter *word censored*, and I presume people that find him funny also crease up when they watch Mr Bean.
Oh yes, and he made such a good manager too.
Fuck off mate. Still bitter at being farmed out on 99 goals...

Merse is absolutely spot on here with our transfer policy, and was spot on with his assessment of us last season

Bit harsh there from Merse, but he does have a point (sort of). We can be disasterous at times when we aren't in possession.SteveO 35 wrote:Has anyone just been listening to the thick c**t on Sky

Agree, Merse is saying no differnet to a lot of gooners, re an experienced keeper and a centre half that were needed for four years or so( last season)StokeyGooner wrote:Pascal Cygan AFC Legend wrote:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZgU7e3TZ ... re=related
Merse is absolutely spot on here with our transfer policy, and was spot on with his assessment of us last seasonGo on the Merse! He's cares about Arsenal which is a lot more than can be said for a lot of our players in more recent years. He's right about taking the fans for granted as well. Gazidis et al have i'm sure realised that in the past few months with their outrageous 6% increase directly affecting the amout of tickets we sell at our place this season. Wait 'til the season tickets are due for renewal next May.
He is passionate about our club still because he still cares - same as Wright, Dixon, etc still say "we" when talking about the Arsenal.
Just because he doesn't sound like the queen doesn't make his point of view less valid. How many players of today give two hoots about the fans ?
Another AFC legend given stick on here again. It's usually Wrighty, now Merson not for the first time. It's disgusting, they care about Arsenal and speak their minds and they're criticised, while people moan about current players like Arshavin, Diaby and Song not caring about the club/fans. Can't win

In fairness, it's because they're in jobs where they have to give opinions all the time and, sadly, most ex-players just don't have opinions of substance. Therefore, as a result, they talk rubbish and deserve to be criticised for it.Sutch wrote:Another AFC legend given stick on here again. It's usually Wrighty, now Merson not for the first time. The media is saturated with ex-footballers who haven't got the necessary skills to properly analyse the game in any meaningful, thought provoking way, yet we're almost force fed their ill informed opinions on a daily basis.
There are some very good analysts out there... Lee Dixon and Keown, for a start. But Wrighty and Merson are rubbish. Utter garbage.
I loved them as players, and won't say a bad word against them in football terms... but as journalists? as "experts"? pfft... they're a wast of space and these media outlets should treat us with more respect and stop dumbing down their programs/newspapers and employe people of substance who have informed and intelligent opinions on football matches and tactics.
Quite frankly, we deserve better quality than this.

IMO Merse on Sky Sports alot of the time says what the hardcore support feels, he did all last season and sometimes they do come out with crap like he did saying you can't get rid of Wenger, but for him to be called a *word censored* and people questioning his IQ and spelling ability is shocking. Roy Hodgson was a crap manager for pool but I don't call him a *word censored* for not being at the standard required.g88ner wrote:In fairness, it's because they're in jobs where they have to give opinions all the time and, sadly, most ex-players just don't have opinions of substance. This is the same Merson that after the 8-2 at Old Trafford said, "You've gotta start wondering about the manager", and then after the ad break, did a dramatic U-turn and said that AW was "definitely" the right man for the job.Sutch wrote:IMO Merse on Sky Sports alot of the time says what the hardcore support feels, he did all last season and sometimes they do come out with crap like he did saying you can't get rid of Wenger, but for him to be called a c**t and people questioning his IQ and spelling ability is shocking. Do the hardcore support also change like this every five minutes?
I agree with that.Sutch wrote:IMO Merse on Sky Sports alot of the time says what the hardcore support feels, he did all last season and sometimes they do come out with crap like he did saying you can't get rid of Wenger, but for him to be called a c**t and people questioning his IQ and spelling ability is shocking. Sadly, some people go too far and are needlessly offensive.

You heard words to this effect
"nah, not for me anyway...if you knew the guy you wouldn't even question him being the man for the job, he's so dedicated the man, who you guna' find better?"
And you've now changed your opinion (ish) on wether Wenger should stay or go.
And you opened a thread to advertise this.
Oooookkkaaaaayyyyyy.
