It was late in the night but I'm sure I was perfectly sober mate.augie wrote:1989 wrote:Rodwell isn't half the player Song is, frankly...
Are you on the beer mate ?Song is fcuk all better than a pub team player and I would stake my life that there isnt one top team in europe that song would be a regular starter for

Of course that being said rodwell wouldnt be my first choice (would prefer somebody more experienced & more physical/dirty) but he would be a big upgrade on song imo

Just laughable that anyone would believe Rodwell (decent player though he is) is a better player than Song.

Re: Jack Rodwell to sign?
Has a decent game for england then all of a sudden he's a player we want. He'll go to united, only injury prevented him leaving in the summer.QuartzGooner wrote:www.arsenalnewsreview.co.uk reckons we are in for Rodwell.
If true, would you partner him with Wilshere in central midfield, with Arteta or Ramsey in front?
Note sure where else he would fit in, not sure he would prosper further forward but time would tell.
I am sceptical about Song leaving, but if he does, then I would have very few worries if we replaced him with the promising Rodwell.
Rodwell isn't a proper holding midfielder at this stage in his career, is he? He's a box to box type, the sort you'd play alongside a holding midfielder when you don't have the ball and then goes forward when you get it back. Sure he'll develop into a very good one probably but he's not quite there at this moment in time. We need somone experienced in the position.

We probably will sign him, typical Wenger signing a player we dont need.
If this guy wasnt English, nobody would even care. Hes overrated beyond belief, barring a great goal against United last years hes done fuck all ask Everton fans if you dont believe me.
Hes no better than Lansbury, and everyone on here rubbishes him.

I still think you will find he will end up at manure and be a huge success. Look at Phil Jones , how many people knew who the hell he was a year ago.
I would take the gamble if we had the chance to get him (yes i know we need experience now) but he will be another Smalling / Jones.
It will be another Ronaldo / Roy Keane moment in 5 years time when he was great with Arsene saying we looked at him and put i na bid for £250,000
