Man City (H) CC Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

SpanishJoe. Apparently the £10 milion waste of space known as Arteta was going to help us improve at corners and set-pieces. He's been crap so far. But to be fair, he at least makes amazing sideways passes....

I could literally take corners and free kicks better than them tonight, no problem.

And I'm a humble man.

Samir Nasri must really, really be gutted at his decision to leave Arsenal tonight. Semi-finals of the league cup and top of the league.

We didn't deserve to lose like that at all.

 Frimpong squaring up to Nasri. Get in there :barscarf:

Thought Frimpong and Coquelin in the middle were everywhere tonight, excellent performances both of them.

Oxo looks a million times better than Arshavin. Koscielny was solid and is much improved on last season.

Really worried about our strikers though. Chamakh and Park are as useless as each other.

Some positives to be taken from that, particularly Coq, Frimpong and Ox.
Yet again we see that we have NO decent strikers as back up and that we desperately need to practice dead ball situations.

Enough of the doom and gloom anyways from me. Sorry guys. Arsene himself said the Carling Cup 'does not count as a trophy'. So we are out of that one then. The FA Cup isn't a trophy either, so count us out of that one.
Personally, I feel it's better for us in the long run to be out of this league cup. Arsene's been talking about the players being 'fatigued' from that mammoth transatlantic journey they made to play Dortmund in Ashburton on Wednesday. We wouldn't want our precious petals knackered after a few minutes more of CC footie either eh?
Our focus has to be winning either the CL, which we can easily win; or more importantly, the trophy most fans are talking about this year, the 4th placed trophy. IN ARSENE I TRUST.

Listened to the live broadcast, quick thoughts:

1. We deserved a result, it sounds like it was all Arsenal for long spells.

2. Kos, Frimpong, Ox, and Gervinho, all fantastic.

3. Corners were woeful, as usual.

4. Nasri's not as good as he thinks he is.

5. $ity had to spend almost 100m to break us down (Johnson, Dzeko, Aguero) - not that it changes the result, but it's worth noting. However...

6, 7, and 8. By the sounds of it, if we had a decent striker to back up RVP, we win this game.
