The REAL reason for Szczensy's singing post match!

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I can't believe he would find that chant offensive. Hasn't anyone pointed out to the Big Fucking German that calling him a Big Fucking German is actually a compliment!! :banghead: :banghead:  It seems the stereo-type of the krauts having no sense of humour is true!!

I prefer the other chant tbh:

He's 6 ft 6 and his name's Mertesacker
He'll fucking knock you out and his name's Mertesacker
He plays in defence and his name's Mertesacker
Peeeeer Mertesacker

But that one is much harder to keep in time if more than a couple of people are singing it.

That's also not the well known version, and the well known version replaces "He'll fucking knock you out" with a line about his father killing Jews in the Holocaust...

To be fair a certain DRG doesn't exactly raise the tone, as some will remember from him et al singing "Spurs are on their way to Auschwitz" on Sky before this year's Derby....

Yep, to be honest it does make you question using the word '****' when a small but vocal minority sing stuff like that.

to be fair they do get ostracised by many for doing it.

Disgusting if true.

What's wrong with 'he'll fucking knock you out'?

Because a few Neanderthals would rather sing 'his dad gassed the ****' and if you don't, you're apparently not a proper Arsenal fan

Yeah well, what kind of tune is that going to fit into anyway?

I'd object on the grounds of musical discrimination.

After seeing our Number 1 get a chant going, it reminded me a lof of a video a y1d sent me a few years ago. It was a video of them on thursday night, the y1ds started singing to Paul Robinson "Robbo give us a song", he then hushed them all up and out of his fat mouth came the chant "STAND UP IF YOU HATE ARSENAL".

I think maybe we could do this more often to Szczesny. At the end of away games, "SZCZESNY GIVE US A SONG", hopefully he chants back with "My old man said to be a Tottenham fan" and looking at our away support they would be more than likely finish him off as well as finish the rest of the chant!
