Was this the best performance away?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Gus that was an amazing night, but can you see the contrast? We hung on for bitter glory that night against a supposedly technically superior team, and tonight we outplayed and outclassed the aristocrats of European football, we were the technically superior team. The common denominator?
Write us off at your peril! Cos The Arsenal will bite your arse, I imagine 100 reporters have been re-writing their account tonight’s game, and I've never been so proud to be AFC!!

Oh there is a huge contrast mate and it is a biased view as I finally got to see Arsenal win something in Europe!

Different era and with a different meaning but to win that game was just awesome for me!

[quote="H4x"]This is the best I can ever remember us playing away from home, certainly in the CL, but then I am only 17.

Can anyone remember us playing better away in Europe? Or anywhere?

This must been the best and greatest away wictory in Europe, ever.

I wish i could have been there guy, but will always remember the Semi Vs PSG as the closest I got to that seasons success, and will always love super Kev for that.

Still in those days we didn't half dig out a result didn't we? And that's all that's made me a gooner today, but holy moly we played those boys off the park today, and based soley on that performance no team could live with us. So that's why I'd say Parma 94 Vs AFC 08 would get a spanking!

And that's my point mate!

We wan't a great side then and Parma were flying and full of class!

We had been robbed of our goalscoring talisman, had a keeper with smashed ribs and worst of all no Johnny Jensen!

Our boys even had to watch the rehearsal of the trophy ceremony with the cup draped in white and yellow!

How we won I will never know but we fucking did!

Last nights game though was a better buzz for me than Madrid or Juventus in 2006!

Fucking awesome and for once I hope Arsenal bring out some commemorative tat video that I can buy!

YES, THIS HAS TO BE THE BEST AWAY VICTORY - CERTAINLY UNDER WENGER - BECAUSE OF ALL THE CIRCUMSTANCES PRIOR TO THE MATCH AND DOUBTS SURROUNDING IT. AGREE WITH DONALDO THAT THE MADRID AND INTER VICTORIES FOLLOW CLOSE BEHIND. 8)
