mike...check out the Ibis central...£50 a room per night...5 of us booked in there...also we are flying out from Stansted to Turin on the wed morning, getting the train to Milan & then flying back to Stansted from milan bergamo on the thursday AM...mikehutch86 wrote:Cheers mate, looked at easyjet and ryanair but no flights coming back after the game so would have to stay and works out that expensive with accomodation anyway so might just have to give it a go then.ElliotGooner wrote:Cheers for the info!
I traveled with the Arsenal Official Travel to Barcelona last season. Their chartered flight was the only flight leaving the city after the match- we had the airport to ourselves and we had coach transport from airport to fanzone and stadium. We got to the city around 11am and staff were helpful enough but the prices they charge are extortionate!

Re: San Siro - Is it worth it?
Had a great time in Milan when we beat them 2-0. The San Siro really is awesome.....a sh*t hole in some respects (walking up those f*cking stairs, lack of facilities, netting etc) but 100 times more atmosphere than the Nou Camp. And they have real fans, not like the plastic tourists who support Barca.ElliotGooner wrote:I found the Camp Nou last season one of the best away days Ive been on even if the police were fucking nutters and the seats up in the gods, the view wasn't as bad as expected and the fanzone was a quality laugh and cant wait for another big European away day.
Do any gooners who have been to the San Siro over the years recommend it as an way day i.e. worth the £500+ for flights, drink and accomodation?
The few spud mates I have said it was a shocker and the net in front of the away fans blocked most of the pitch :s
Cheers
Duomo Square was great during the day and we had no problem with Milan fans before or after the game.
Altogether a great trip and one I would recommend!
Will be trying for tickets for this one, can anyone help with some info on the below statement from Arsenal.com.
"First Name, Surname, DOB and country of birth will be required of all travelling supporters attending this fixture"
My son uses my ex-wifes membership for tickets, never an issue getting in the emirates obviously but will it mess us up entering San Siro. What has happened in the past with the italian games?
Any help appreciated.

You wont have any problems with Arsenal. When you go online or phone to book tickets the club will ask what name you want on the ticket for Milan regardless of who owns the membership or whos name is on itNewb_Russ wrote:Will be trying for tickets for this one, can anyone help with some info on the below statement from Arsenal.com.

Always made our own way to away games, free to do what you want when you want and its a whole lot cheaper than the rip off that is the travel club.
Didn't it used to be non-profit making once upon a time?

For me, The Nou Camp and the San Siro were the 2 stadiums I've always wanted to visit the most - probably along with The Bernabeu.
The San Siro was an amazing experience and I'm definitely glad I went, so I'd jump at the chance if I was you mate.
And, thanks to sammydroppedhisshorts, I was able to go to the Nou Camp last season (thanks Sammy!
)
Great stadiums, and a must see for football geeks.
