As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Exactly.
He's 24 guys.

Finishing you learn between the ages of 10 and 15.

Can't do it now, never will.
He is young give him time.

Also remember, once Ade Akinbiyi and Francis Jeffers sort their respective finishing, they will be top-level ballers! Because they get on the end of chances, it's just errrm....the finishing bit that lets em down!

I would also suggest you show some patience with Henry too please. He is young and needs time to adapt to the pace of this league. Give him about two months THEN you'll see how immense it will all be!

Keep the Faith for 2012!!!!

Arsene Knows

If there was an Arsenal forum back in 1999 I bet that's what they were saying, and look how it all turned out.

I said that at Lille he was incredibly inconsistent, and was incredibly clumsy with his first touch, and had no regularity in his game. I said that at £11 mil it was a piss-take price and that Hazard is clearly the quality player there; and that we were getting the poor man's Hazard.
As usual though, the AKBs were out en masse to shut that suggestion down.

Needless to say, I stand vindicated.

BUT, Arsene has a habit of turning average journeymen from Ligue 1 into quality. Look at Chamakh. So give Gervinho a chance and he will soon be ripping it up. Trust in Arsene. Show some patience FFS...
No, I'll think you'll find that those of us who had actually watched Gervinho knew exactly what we were getting and adjusted our expectations accordingly.
My opinion on Gervinho has not changed since the say we signed him, he is a totally "meh" player, horrifically average. Off the top of my head I can't think of a worse one on one finisher...
There is one playing in the same team as Gervy

Hint:
-He's very very quick
-He likes writing kids books
-He's got the football IQ of a river shrimp

i know i'm clutching at straws a bit but there's far worse players in the squad that deserve abuse before gervinho
So what if he is direct, Theo is lightening quick but it means nothing if their end product is the weakest part of their game, like I say, we play one striker, our wingers are a huge part of our game, they are useless, I can't wait to see Chamberlin have a go, even at his young age you just know he will be far better.

Hmmm... is he really that quick?? I saw Luke Young beat him for pace today... also at Man City I saw Kolo beat him also... so I don't think he's that quick... in fact, overall, I think he's pretty shit and we should be aiming our sights higher than this Hleb-alikey tosser.

Arseshavin is direct too. He runs directly into their fullback and loses possession.

yes i'd like to see chamberlain given a go too, i was making the point that while he isn't great, there are worse players in the squad to get exasperated with than him :) in my opinion, of course

yep, it's something him and Song seem to do far too often. It's great when it comes off, but at 4-0 or something you can take that gamble, when a game is close you need to do something productive.

Ramsey just irritates me full stop, yes his flicks are reckless but he holds on to the ball so long and takes one too many touches, he really slows our play down a lot.

Said it before, Diaby would get crucified if he played like Ramsey.

Total "meh" player like so many in our team, horribly average.

I like Arteta, calm, no frills and responsible, awful set piece taker and a bit slow but he is a team player.

If you watch it, really watch it, you'll see it isn't that at all.

Ramsey is quick in mind, quick in feet, but always waiting for play to catch up with him or move ahead of him.

He has no chance in our current set up, he is surrounded by inadiquacy. Heaven forbid he played more regularly with Cesc or even Wilshere but he's fucked.

For everything Arteta does well, we're looking at £10m on the type of player you should be able bring up for free in your youth system.

Ramsey is suffering, you can see the boy wants to ball, tries to ball, but he's fucked with whats around him.
