Wenger Out Banner

Ahhhh so now its you've had threats. From who random internet posters? Who probably have no idea at all who you are.

Again, what is so hard about getting down to the half way line row 1 opposite the tunnel and showing it there, where only those opposite can see it?

Are those who threatened you going to make it out of their seats and get down to you inside the stadium before you stop showing it?

Dont have the numbers....time isnt rite....it will be taken off us.....its acheived its goal so far....we've recieved threats....

Just to clarify, why hasnt it been shown yet?

No. We have had threats from people who most definitely are not faceless keyboard warriors, who fully intend their threats and are able to carry them out.

I am going to leave it at that.

Im not trying to wind anyone up at all, and said the same to frank.

If anything its you guys with your posts about this banner that are actually on a wind up....or is it attention seeking?

...Coz you've all spoke a lot about "doing something", had a go at those who havent helped you out, or turned against the idea totally (like one individual who actually contributed to the payment of the thing)......yet what have YOU actually done????

Nothing.

You missed the boat, and you know it. You couldnt get the numbers after THAT start, and you think you'll get the numbers now? Seriously? As I said I was behind the idea at the start, not the sentiment of the banner, but the protest value it brought, that start was a disgrace and the club should have been made aware of the frustration of the fans...in anyway. That was then!!! To even consider showing it now is ridiculous, and you will be laughed at by most quarters.....and as you've said angered some to the point of making threats.

That is clearly now the excuse you are using. So to be honest the more you guys post different excuses....I'll post and question them...because thats what they are....excuses, hopefully this will continue in the basement coz its where this thread now belongs. (BUT STILL BOYCOTT THE PLACE  )

Was reading through this thread again and came across some interesting quotes from October............

Undoubtedly true, but that doesn't really bother me. It's worth the hassle.

That'll get them choking on the G n T's

Could be a good shout, but I'd rather hang it directly opposite AW in the East Stand. Will get on TV and all!

We need to ring the newspapers and inform them we are holding this banner up.

I think if we do it at a home game the threats won't be carried out

All a bit strange- have to say though that if you're getting serious threats from the kind of people I'm assuming you are then I can quite understand not wanting to risk showing it. Maybe its best to leave it until the end of the season and see where the chips fall- although I can understand people not seeing it as a success, if Wenger gets 4th again (especially if coupled with either a decent CL or a good FA Cup run) I doubt there would be enough support to warrant a banner. Finish in the Europa League positions or below though and I imagine people will be turning on someone, be it Wenger, the board or both.

Not sure theres any advantage to doing it now rather than waiting for a while at this stage now that the January window has gone to all intents and purposes (in terms of if Wenger went) so you'll be stuck with him for the rest of the season anyway, might as well play it by ear, avoid any bother and resurrect the idea in April if the season goes badly

Correct. But the impression given by the threats was that it was more them regarding aways as their 'personal fiefdom' ( ), and not really caring about what goes on at home games

then I can quite understand not wanting to risk showing it. Maybe its best to leave it until the end of the season and see where the chips fall-

We would want to do it sooner rather than later. Depends on support and results... Actually, scratch that, ideally we win the CL and never have to show the banner but that won't happen in a month of Sundays.

although I can understand people not seeing it as a success, if Wenger gets 4th again (especially if coupled with either a decent CL or a good FA Cup run) I doubt there would be enough support to warrant a banner.

I'd disagree with that mate. Another stagnant season could well be the tipping point, especially if we have another humiliating cup exit and lose to the Scum at home

Finish in the Europa League positions or below though and I imagine people will be turning on someone, be it Wenger, the board or both.
