It was a dumb question!!

So is the banner going to be shown at the next game? I take it from this post it isnt?SWLGooner wrote:No. We have had threats from people who most definitely are not faceless keyboard warriors, who fully intend their threats and are able to carry them out.
I am going to leave it at that.
I've a feeling bren that the threats came from people who do know who they are, but.....................northbankbren wrote:Ahhhh so now its you've had threats. From who random internet posters? Who probably have no idea at all who you are.
Again, what is so hard about getting down to the half way line row 1 opposite the tunnel and showing it there, where only those opposite can see it?
Are those who threatened you going to make it out of their seats and get down to you inside the stadium before you stop showing it?
Dont have the numbers....time isnt rite....it will be taken off us.....its acheived its goal so far....we've recieved threats....
Just to clarify, why hasnt it been shown yet?

Undoubtedly true, but that doesn't really bother me. It's worth the hassle.

That'll get them choking on the G n T's
Could be a good shout, but I'd rather hang it directly opposite AW in the East Stand. Will get on TV and all!

We need to ring the newspapers and inform them we are holding this banner up.

All a bit strange- have to say though that if you're getting serious threats from the kind of people I'm assuming you are then I can quite understand not wanting to risk showing it. Maybe its best to leave it until the end of the season and see where the chips fall- although I can understand people not seeing it as a success, if Wenger gets 4th again (especially if coupled with either a decent CL or a good FA Cup run) I doubt there would be enough support to warrant a banner. Finish in the Europa League positions or below though and I imagine people will be turning on someone, be it Wenger, the board or both.SWLGooner wrote:I think if we do it at a home game the threats won't be carried out

Correct. But the impression given by the threats was that it was more them regarding aways as their 'personal fiefdom' (), and not really caring about what goes on at home games

We would want to do it sooner rather than later. Depends on support and results... Actually, scratch that, ideally we win the CL and never have to show the banner but that won't happen in a month of Sundays.

I'd disagree with that mate. Another stagnant season could well be the tipping point, especially if we have another humiliating cup exit and lose to the Scum at home
