Re: This is a time to be positive
Thanks for that Red.....just made a few little edits for you

we have the most promising midfielder in England, Jack Wilshere returning from injury next month
agreed, some good news - if only the manager had the balls to bomb out Song and play him with Arteta and Ramsey
we have one of the most exciting young talents in England, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
a man who will no doubt play at least one FA Cup tie but won't get on the field during the PL and CL games, inexplicably finding himself below Arshavin, Walcott, Rosicky, Gervinho and Benayoun, in the pecking order for a wide midfield role
when all fully fit we now have one of the best defences in the country
a) not true b) they are never fully fit c) when they aren't our back-ups are never will be's or kids from Charlton
we are one of of only 2 clubs left in this country who are still in the Champions League
agreed. Lets enjoy it for this season as it'll be a while before we see us in the competition again
we are still in the FA Cup
..and I expect us to be until Round 5 which is played during the middle of CL games and important PL games at which point we'll be seeing Eastmond, Squillaci, Fabianski and Chamakh make a total pigs ear of it when we get drawn away to a PL game.
ANY MOANING AND CRITICISMS SHOULD NOW WAIT UNTIL THE END OF THE SEASON - GET BEHIND THE TEAM LIKE ON MONDAY NIGHT AND LETS SEE WHAT HAPPENS
At which point goldfish brain mentality will kick in once more, there will be lots of planned protests and banners before everyone renews their season tickets and ensures Gazidis and Wenger remain protected yet again. Still I'm sure there will be a summer of selling RvP and signing super quality replacements to look forward to

How many goals was it again.....42 ?

one last thing
do we have a divine right to win the premier league like man utd? NO
should we be competitive and challlenge for top honours? ABSOLUTELY
have we been challenging over the last 5 years? NO.

Will we ever start another match against anyone / anywhere without playing 1 striker up front on his own ?lowerwest wrote:do we have a divine right to win the premier league like man utd? NO

When VP is injured and we stick Arshavin in there again.
Then we will have no recognised strikers up front.

Re: one last thing
I say we try Almunia up there ... by the law of relativity, he just has to be good at something ... maybe that's it !Number 5 wrote:Yes.SteveO 35 wrote:Will we ever start another match against anyone / anywhere without playing 1 striker up front on his own ?lowerwest wrote:do we have a divine right to win the premier league like man utd? Re: This is a time to be positive
I thought I would join in with the new positive feeling on here by putting up a post I did last season predicting that things were not as bad as they seemed back then.
In particular I certainly did feel that the defence was heading in the right direction.
the problem I have this season is that I don't believe having sold our best player to one of our rivals that we stand a chance of improving on our 3rd place last season and Jack Wilshere has STILL not returned.
it appears this club can only go so far and we are always going to be 2 or 3 players away from challenging for the top honours.

And nice to see my predictions about Wenger allowing us to wimp out of the FA Cup early doors, replacing RvP with substandard shite and having a shitty March to May period come true too mate. Hardly takes fucking Sherlock does it ?Red Member wrote:I thought I would join in with the new positive feeling on here by putting up a post I did last season predicting that things were not as bad as they seemed back then.

We'll blow out the cups again in our pursuit of the 4th placed trophy, we'll sell at least 2 more decent players at the end of the season, not sign anyone in January and then wonder why our 2nd rate backups (Djourou, Fabianski, Chamakh etc) let us down again at the business end of the season

Re: This is a time to be positive
totally agree Steveo
see I have caught on this season!
although again I think we will do ok this season, but this time the defence will be stronger and the attack weaker.
Santi Cazorla looked at home at the Etihad today. No doubt he will be playing there before long.
That is the problem now - it is difficult to believe in the team any more.
