BSM Press Release Stage I

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Agree with an earlier forum post.

The club are now a business. There are no football men like Dein and Fiszman left at the club. Therefore they will have a strategy mapped out of how far they can push prices up until the model is at breaking point and attendances start to drop.

They have zero affinity with the club and see fans as customers. Another £50 on everyones ticket will not lead to a mass of non-renewals.

If it does they have a waiting list of 25k+ to fall back on. Don't forget there was only a 9,000 movement in the waiting list this year, so very unlikely we'll see anything more than that in any case.

The prices will go up and the quality on the pitch will go down it has been like that since we left Highbury and it will be like it until we get in a manager who will challenge the board for major investment.

Wenger is obsessed with buying teens and selling then at profits when 24. the board are absolutely loving this, so they will never ever fire him.

The only way to make things change is if we get a major fan revolt i.e. major no show in a game. Protest outside ground before a game etc

Too many people THINK about getting that prick Wenger out but what they say is entirely different as they are scared to not tow the party line.

Could start that with smaller protest like a mass non-attendance for the first 10 minutes of a televised game.
Such as getting the majority of fans (I know all won't agree) to either wait outside the grove and/or in the concourse before entering.
Good idea, looks great when done in Europe. Good luck getting enough Arsenal fans organised enough to work together on this though!
That's the only problem.

You mean the only problem, other than the obvious one that everybody has already paid for their tickets so it doesn't hurt the club in the slightest. Its not a publically traded company where the share price is going to move. Two major shareholders own it between them, one with a vast majority, so it isn't as if the adverse publicity will hurt

It will only work if it hurts financially.
Nearly 20,000 tickets are sold for each game. If they only sold half of them (-£500,000) and a load of ST holders didn't show, it would send a message that the revenue stream is under threat and this would be even more worrying for them if we are looking at no CL by then.

Maybe steve o but this protest would be aimed at the club as a warning for next season and not to punish them this season. The idea of this suggestion, and correct me if I'm wrong, is to send a message to the club that if they increase the ticket prices again for next season then they will be looking at a lot more empty seats as many more fans will not renew. As a guy that has a few tickets in his possession I have absolutely no qualms in leaving the seats empty for any match or leave them idle for the first 10-15mins of a game if it is done so in cahoots with other Gooners and I dont really see this as a protest that would be hard to organise

Dont make me laugh - fizsman was a vengeful man hell bent on settling personal vendettas even if it affected the performance of the club. He is the man that overseen and implimented the current policy of spending fcuk all and selling your assest with a view to great balance sheets, a huge rise in share prices but no fcuking advancement on the pitch
