The REALISTIC who will be our next manager thread????

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I don't care who our next manager is, all I care about is when.

I do think Wenger's time is coming to an end (his own fault)

Ancelotti is a good shout, he said the other day he wanted the job. Guardiola is often rumoured,. He'll leave Barca within the next 2 years so he could be the man they go after.

I don't think they'll go for an ex-player, after Wenger they will be aware they need a big name. Especially if he goes by their hand.

I believe that they will appoint owen coyle and I aint kidding
As has often been said, the *word censored* are board level wouldnt be able to run the dog and duck pub team so I would have fcuk all confidence in appointing a successer (still want wenger gone asap mind you). I think that they will remember the hype around coyle being one of the best up and coming managers last season and opt for him in keeping with their philosophy of building around younger inexperienced players

As the board knows as much of football as i know of abino salmon breeding, i'd say they'd go for an EPL stablished manager. Moyes would be really nice, though i'd rather have Klopp or Valencia's manager.

Fair point on the ex-player market thing.

I would have agreed with you up until this season, but given Bolton's current form I can't see it.
Lambert looks like taking over Coyle's mantle for playing decent football and staying in the plge.
That said I would take Coyle tomorrow if it meant Wenger going.

i don't know, i probably won't be alive anymore when the board decides it's time to sack wenger, who'll be 157 years old at the time.

"arsène wenger is the right man to take us back into league football", hill-wood, now 208 yo, says after the relegation from league 2 :banghead:

I wouldnt want coyle and am in no way suggesting him as a viable replacement but am merely suggesting that our incompetent board would see him as a good choice

I wasn't suggesting you were, but given his current predicament, not even our board could consider him now.
18 months ago, he did look like a promising young manager, and worth a gamble, but he seems now to be out of his depth.

In all honesty mate I'd be suprised if the old bugger's still alive then. Getting all worked up by the fact that we lose only because of the ref, and never because of the shit players, can't be good for his ticker 8)

It depends how quicky we want to change our manager. I say do it end of season.

I would like us to go to Guardiola and say 'look we are ambitious', give him some proper wedge and then show we are a serious outfit again.

Long term prospects? Maybe Bergkamp with a bit more experience but Brendan Rodgers and Paul Lambert are pulling up trees & would need to be considered seriously if they are still performing at such a high level.

I don't know why a new manager is being discussed as the current one has a contract until 2014.

didn't no we were in the market for a gaffer but the way this club is being run and getting very sentimental of late.my uggestion would be gilles grimandi and remi garde as a duet and the fact that gilles has been sucking his balls since they met, the same goes for garde and the same frog has got his break at lyon. (beginning to dislike french men) :banghead:
