Who scored

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

the first english goal for us at the grove belongs to phil jagielka, an OG in a 3-0 win v Sheffield United.

:? First english goal scored altogether was a villa player, I'm guessing Reo Coker? And first english Arsenal player to score there was Theo, right. If your talking about the testimonial for DB10 it was probably someone like Parlour or Wrighty, I can't remember

but first actual Arsenal goal in a competitive match at the grove was Gilberto Silva, but otherwise I'm having trouble understanding your question , pretty sure the first Arsenal goalscorer at the Grove was brazilian (Silva)

Exactly, the question is double dutch... then again, as Ajax was the first game (Bergkamp's tesimonial) and Huntelaar was the first goalscorer, perhaps double dutch is the correct answer!

The question was simple....

The title started it the post ended it.

However, the answer was indeed Justin Hoyte, as he scored v Charlton in 2007 making him the first English born Arsenal player to score at the Grove

i'm backing Henry here. The OP was unclear. Jagielka is the answer. If you'd said "Arsenal player" it would be Hoyte. BUT YOU DIDN'T!
