what you have got to remember about the Chelsea game is that they will be exhausted after playing Spurs at Wembley and Barcelona on the Wednesday night prior to a lunchtime Saturday game.

RVP and Walcott will rip what remains of their defence to shreds.

2nd point - Wenger doesnt settle for a point. this is a team of winners, thats why we have won 9 out of 10

well done for beating us in the cup though!

The Chelsea game is important as a win would be a huge boost to Arsenal, a draw may be ok if we beat Wigan and Stoke, but a loss would make the last games alot more nervous.

Whether Wenger settles for a point or not is surely down to circumstance? You have won a shit load of games recently but none of them have been games where Wenger could really afford to say "we'll settle for a draw here lads", you've needed the points to get into and get relatively comfortable in the top 4 (plus he will be desperate for 3rd to avoid having to go through qualification). Assuming you beat Wigan on Monday however it'll change a bit. You wont be chasing top 4, you'll be defending 3rd.

I'm not saying he wouldnt want to beat Chelsea (he obviously would) but if its level and getting on in the game, I think he'd be daft to go overcommitting and risk losing a goal when a point would keep things ticking over and would take you to 68 points, guaranteeing being at least 3 points ahead of Spurs with a better goal difference going into a relatively comfortable last 3 games (Stoke away, Norwich home, West Brom away, realistically you might lose stoke but thats it, and if you could win the other 2 you'd be guaranteed 3rd even if you lose to stoke unless spurs get a hell of a goal difference swing!). Wenger is a good enough manager to know when to settle for a point, team of winners or not and if the reward for going for it and winning isnt worth it for the risk of being hit and losing, I think he'd settle for the point.

Time will tell mate, I'm sure you think you'll beat them and like I say you might well do, but looking at those fixtures you've got left if you offered Wenger a point in that one now leaving 4 winnable games (3 against sides with nothing to play for, only Wigan at home are desperate for points), I think he'd snap your hand off every time

Even at home its been loud and everyone standing. Games like Newcastle and Citeh in the last few minutes were helped by the crowd. Same as Liverpool away in the last minute

We are staying until the final whistle and not giving up no matter what the score. If in the summer we fuck it all up again I am dreading all the infighting and poor atmosphere again

Any surprise we are winning games in an environment with ALL THE CROWD vocally behind them at all times pushing them on. Also that the team are showing passion and actually giving a fuck.
We are all giving the team a chance and getting behind every player (apart from that fuckwit cham) but I know for certain the same understanding will not be there next season if we have a summer from hell caused by the ego man wenger
I agree but i think your scenario (chicken and egg maybe!) is wrong way round. Until the team showed passion at the 5-2 it was hard to get behind them while they wandered aimlessly around the pitch. Even showing some effort that went nowhere would have been easier to stomach. It was hard to cheer and sing when your heart was in your mouth all the time.

Loving this moment in time and forever hopeful but as i think you hinted i wouldn't be surprised if my stomach is wheeling around again in tandem with some aimless players in our half for large parts of next season. Lets hope the Ego Man as you called him goes for gold as he comes towards the end of his contract .

i don't think we'll beat chelsea, purely because we've already won too many "big games" (chelsea away, liverpool away, spurs at home, man city at home. i also include sunderland and everton away cos they felt like massive wins at the time) it just feels like we've used up our quota and a draw is most likely unless chelsea pull a vintage performance out of the hat.

i'm hoping wigan have exhausted themselves mentally by beating united and will give up against us at ashburton, meaning if we can win against west brom and norwich we'll be fine (stoke can fuck themselves, send the youth team to get their legs broken and let rvp etc fuck off to dubai for a week)

Yet got battered by United twice, lost at Citeh, lost at Spurz and lost at home to Liverpool.....not to mention defeats at Fulham and QPR big London derbies. I think your law of averages suggest Arsenal to double Chavski

Let's just hope Chavski and Sp*rs kick the shit out of each other this weekend! Followed by that...

We have some great fortune this time around as Chelsea play us in between two massive Champions League fixtures, and they might be focusing all their energy on those two legs.

Chelsea next 4:
@ Sp*rs (FA Cup) on the 15th
v. Barca (CL) on the 18th
@ Arsenal on the 21st
@ Barca (CL) on the 24th

Frankly, they are in trouble with that schedule. They don't have the depth nor the legs they used to in order to really give all four of those games a full go. Not to mention Arsenal has been playing some great football at home, with a freshly cut and watered Springtime pitch giving us the best possible surface to play on.

Arsenal have to be heavy favorites against the Chavs.

Winning 9 out of 10 league games does not make this team winners.Actually challenging for the title which we didnt from the first day of the season and winning trophies does.

:D :D

As so clearly demonstrated from their overflowing trophy cabinets ! A team of winners unable to win the Carling Cup when presented with a chance to do so against a team that got relegated from the Premier League

Winning more games than Spurs is a relative thing. Manchester United are a team of winners

Totally agree with Mike. This run will mean nothing if we have yet another clusterfuck of a transfer window.

There's absoloutely no evidence whatsoever to support your claim. 9 out of 10 is so short term that it cannot be used to support any long term change. Winning things will be the only evidence you need.

Does Ashley Cole ever keep Theo quiet? Theo always plays well against them

sunderland supporter - how do you work out that Arsenal v Chelsea will be 0-0
We will crush that lot
TBH I wouldnt pay much attention to the scores, I just stick anything in to avoid it taking hours, but I reckon the match will finish a draw one way or the other. Ashley Cole should be back and I think he will keep Walcott relatively quiet and this could mean Van Persie struggling to get as involved as he would like, possibly having to drop back to find space. Equally, they have Drogba/ Torres, Mata and Sturridge who I think can keep Arsenal a bit wary and thus see them dropping back slightly (can't really keep a high line and push up with Sturridge and Mata around to exploit space in behind and actually Torres, shit though he is, could equally threaten in behind, if Drogba plays he wont get behind but if Mata/ Sturridge do then he's dangerous if they cross it back for him).

So I can see Arsenal concentrating on giving nothing away, especially since a draw in that one (bearing in mind the other games you have left all looking winnable against middle/ lower table sides) would be a positive result, its more vital that Chelsea win it as they'll be chasing 4th and have a few tricky games. That coupled with Walcott probably being quite well shackled leading to a lack of counter attacking opportunities means I think a draw is likely- maybe 0-0 would be worth a bet, but a 1-1 wouldnt surprise me either. You're more likely to win than they are mind, I'll give you that, but Wenger will take a point imo and seal 3rd with wins in other games against average sides
 Sorry red member, just couldn't resist
