Of those still playing, only Cesc would make a real difference to us, sadly it ain't gonna happen till he is 30 odd and no use to Barca anymore.

Without a doubt, although you have to remember at the time £2m was a heck of a lot of money for a player so can understand why George was tempted. Cantona left Leeds a year later to go to Man U for less.

Thinking back i dont think we had anybody in our side who could give us an attacking threat from the midfield like Rocky did until Overmars arrived some five years later. Not sure he would have still been around for the invincibles, he'd have been 37 and would have lost his pace, but can you imagine him on the right hand side of the 97/98 team with Overmars on the other flank, Petit and Vieira in the middle with a choice of Bergkamps Genius, Wrights poaching and Anelkas pace to supply for. In that sense he would have made a great team even better, who knows what would more could have happened.

It's a shame Adebayor is an absolute cretin because there is no doubting his goal scoring ability (when he can be arsed and for the right price!)

Put him in the squad for park and chamakh and be better off this season! But that said I never want to see him in an arsenal shirt again, still angers me we never bought another quality striker with the cash we got for him!
