I think this signing makes sense, for Podolski and for Arsenal, but I haven't seen enough evidence yet to suggest that it is definitely happening.
Even handshake deals mean nothing in the cutthroat modern world of agents and big money contracts.
I'm sure Arsenal and Koln have agreed "in principle" and will "negotiate further" if both parties' "prerequisites" are fulfilled come the summer and there are not "extenuating circumstances".

I think it is a done deal. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/gossip/ Cologne's striker Lukas Podolski, 26, will join Arsenal for just under £10m in the summer, according to reports in Germany.
If cologne is being relegated to the second division then he will maybe be cheaper...
