Oh my god the season is nearly

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

if we pay down our stadium early and sky rocketing prices cause a collapse
we will be in the prime position to take advantage...
personally I don't see it
but who knows?

even despite a recession the Emirates is always full and people are paying far more for tickets than they ever were in the 80s. The PL is a global brand now. If attendances ever dropped off in England (which at the moment is unlikely) then there would be moves to play some games abroad. Kroenke's American football team is playing a league match in London soon I think. He would be delighted to see an Arsenal league match take place in the US. It could happen.
The sign of a very young mind. Everything goes in cycles my friend - boom and bust. Do you think football clubs will forever be attracting record attendances ? Go back to the record attendance of most clubs - 1930s and earlier - then it sunk in the 70s and 80s. Growing again now but not immune forever

All sports have phases of boom and bust - cricket in the West Indies for example, which was by far and away the most popular sport there in the 70s and 80s and is now virtually amateur and bankrupt.

Football may well be the country's number 1 sport but continue to charge people ever escalating prices and drop the standard of the product, and watch what happens.

this has been happening for the last few years BUT still attendances are holding up. And as I said if supporters over here cant afford it then the games will be played elsewhere. Arsenal are playing Man City in July in China. How many more years before that is played as a PL fixture there?

No doubt i will spend most of the summer checking sky sports online , teletext ,on here checking to see who we have spent our '£50 mill' war chest on , only to be let down once again like every season when we sign no one exciting and actually make a transfer profit !!!!!!!!!!!

Jack will be back and it will be like signing a new player ! and Diaby will once again be the new PV4.

I think most of the Summer will be spent worrying about whether Van Persie stays or not mate. As long as the Self Harmer doesn't look a clown again saying that "we can not be a big club and sell our best players" before doing exactly that 48 hours before the window closes.....

Another season, another kit (thought that was meant to be every 2 years but hoorah for commerative jerseys eh?). Which reminds me, when can I give Ivan my 40 quid for his sweat shop produced shirt made out of recycled bottles?

STeveO , you are of course correct , how could i forget that i will be checking to see if the RVP contract issue has been resolved and i bet it won't be by the time the 5 day window closes before he is off to the Euro's !!!

(after nearly 40 years of supporting the gunners i wish it didn't matter so much and that i would grow up !)

Thank fuck for the Euro's and Olympic football, the years when there is no world cup or euro's is a killer, although the copa america does make up for it slightly but you have to stay up late for that.

I wonder who Wenger will sign this summer lol

I have heard we are getting 3 youngsters in for next season - Wilshere, Walcott and Frimpong :D

lol Wilshere will be hailed as a new signing once we fail to land our transfer targets, as will Zinidine Diaby if he doesn't break down during pre-season training in Austria or wherever Arsene is taking them..

i do this aswell, i no everything that i read is usually crap but then after so many stories you start to believe it just before being crushed and ending up with Nobsacker and Aggro Santos on deadline day

No need to watch sky or teletext when we have our very own rumours thread on here. :barscarf:

Our season ended long ago mate. Even though certain posters considered the 8-2 mauling irrelevant it just showed how far we've fallen. A scraped top four finish with Chelsea then winning the CL might be what is finally needed to wake Kroenke up

We need to stop all this 'fourth placed trophy' bollocks, whining about financial fair play and show some balls. The American may just have had £100m wiped off his investment this year and I hope it fucking hurts and I hope that the responsible heads roll

Outdoor football season locally :) That'll keep me busy enough, that and transfer rumors, getting my hopes up that we'll sign some proper players before we enter into the Emirates Cup with essentially the exact same squad, plus the "refreshed Diaby"
