hopefully I will be a silver member soon

Re: The first 3 things you'd do if you ran the Club..
1) Reset objectives between Chief Executive and Manager. Part of this to include a filter system to define if a player should be in the Arsenal squad or not
2) Review medical personnel / medical records using a 3rd party company to truly understand situation with regards to treatment & recuperation methods
3) Review wages policy of all Arsenal employees so all income becomes more performance based. Drop the link between bottom feeders and high performers
Wenger needs more control over him - If he walks as a result of this, so be it
Commercial deals can't be renegotiated until 2014 so waste of time for a couple of years
Sacking everyone without proper consultation is only going to put off replacements coming. If they think these sort of actions are possible at any time, why would they give up job security and prospects in another company? All you will do is attract mercenaries and poor performing staff.

Ok, if I were in charge -
1. Move Wenger upstairs and get a new manager in, someone with new methods and someone who has a PROVEN PLAN B when the tiki taka crap isn't fucking working - this means NOT Pep
2. Put the away fans in the upper tier, and implement safe standing with the clear rule that if you're in the standing area you have to try and generate some atmosphere rather than telling everyone to sit down, non-singers, JCLs, WUMs and general twats will be booted out with no refund
3. Give all the untouchables on the board a kick up the arse, and implement a maximum dividend that states a minimum percentage of profits MUST be invested back into the team every year either through transfer funds or wages, as well as full transparency of all matters in the club - fan representation in all meetings
Most realistic thing I can possibly ever hope for -
1. Get a young manager in as AW's assistant next year with a view to grooming him to take over, let the new guy take training and have a say on what goes on, we need a new attitude and influx in the team as right now we are about as stale as year old bread
2. Please please please for the love of god put the away fans in the upper tier, we get ripped of ticket-price wise wherever we go anyway and putting the away fans up there won't make a bit of difference to this
3. Literally can't think of one more realistic thing I'd like to see happen

So you don't want Wenger gone?mikeyb772001 wrote:1 Take away ALL OF WENGERS CONTROL apart from Managing the team
2 sack the board and bring back dein armed with the fat Russian to conduct all transfers/ renegotiate player contracts
3 Bring in new back room staff and an assistant manager that Heads up training

Same question popped into my mind

I like this very much ..frankbutcher wrote:We all disagree with various elements of how the Club is run. If you owned the Club, what would be the first 3 changes you'd make?
1) Hire Pep Guardiola to replace Wenger.
2) Sack the entire Board, including Gazidis. Appoint an international class exec team incentivised to increase non-matchday revenue. In other words leave the fans alone and start making money from sponosrship deals.
3) Move the Away fans into the Upper Tier and convert Club Level into normally priced seating. The Away area becomes "safe standing" for 3,000.
I would also put the whole medical team on medical leave ..

Re: The first 3 things you'd do if you ran the Club..
1. Give Wenger an improved contract for a ten year period.
2. Make the contract stipulate that at least one trophy needs to be won each year. Failure to do so means instant dismissal.
3. That ought to sort it.

Re: The first 3 things you'd do if you ran the Club..
1. Rip out all the seats behind the goals and make huge terraces, keep half the standing tickets back for people who queue up on the day.
2. Get rid of our mickey mouse badge and back to one with a proper cannon on it.
3. Bring in Tony Adams and bring back Eboue!

OK let me put it another way
Wenger changing his ways. Being forced to spend money. Not having the run of the club. Being forced to win something and having someone like Dein in to arrange contracts and have the ability to sell players under wengers big nose.
Adding quality players to the squad we have and dropping all the dead wood.
Or bring in a new manager under the same rules….
I would keep the old man
Some of the current squad work well with wenger and I think they would leave if he went regardless who we get in.
For example
RVP
Ches
Sagna
TV
Kos
With the crazy old man he still gets us 3rd or 4th but is settling for that. For this reason alone I want the old goat gone from this club so this thread is pointless.
However if I was god I know what I would want to happen, and the what the outcome would be.
Think about and pick what you would do under those circumstances. Not that it would happen mind.
Re: The first 3 things you'd do if you ran the Club..
So you want a continental style of management where players are shoved onto the manager regardless of whether he wants them or not ? What makes you think wenger would play them ahead of his "babies" ? Finally I dont know a manager anywhere that would operate in a system that allows the club to sell players out from under him without his agreement.
There is no system that can and will work under wenger's managerial rule - that ship has long since sailed

Ok put it another way.
A board that wont allow wenger to keep persisting with Denilson, diaby and so on for so fucking long
That will take away his power and give him targets but at the same time force him to spend money or spend it for him.

Re: The first 3 things you'd do if you ran the Club..
don't really understand the 'sack the board' bit here
if you 'ran the club' you must own it... no?
the board are kind of sacked already? They're just shareholders.
I'm all over safe standing but against giving the away fans expensive seats.
Pisses me off as an away fan when I'm paying more than the home fans (and we're always category A)
commercial renegotiations are all about 2014 - if they could be binned early I'm guessing they would have been by now so won't say that. A wage structure rejig is happening already with RVP and Theo's new contracts.
Safe standing won't happen at club level, you need to run the Prem not the club to change that.
We're gonna get a new #2 with Pat retiring so won't say that.
I don't think Wenger is great at spending BIG money anyway. I would try and pay down debt until he's gone and wouldn't push him out early as we compete. So on a team level the 'things I'd do' would all be contingent on the manager agreeing. I'd like to see
1- more experienced stopgap signings. Would have liked to see us buy loads of old players for a season or two over the years. Kevin Phillips, Distin, Senna were all available on the cheap and I would have had them and rotated with young players.
2- already happened arguably but I think additional focus on the Cups to get the 7 years and counting media off our backs.
3- buy Messi (OK OK really I would like to see us vary our formation more but that seems unlikely under Wenger)
