I'm sorry but that is unacceptable - when you need players badly, as we do, then you have to be willing to pay that little bit extra to get those players. If you identify players and think they are going to improve our team enough to make a bid then how then do you back out and decide to stick as you are ? I mean if you have confidence in the players you already have, and bear in mind that these players have us sitting 19 pts off the top 2, then surely you wouldnt need to bid or buy other players ?

Please please please wenger just fcuking fcuk off and take your penny piching economics and internal solutions with you
Augie, remember might that whilst we might not sign anyone in this market, the great thing is that there are two markets at work, as our Dear Leader said on 13 August 2011:

"We have two markets: one is internal and one is external. Internal is the young players that we have - players who are inside the club are very important".

Ha ha - I love the transfer window - an excuse for everyone to tread on the same rake that they do every Summer. One big signing and thats Podolski. Forget anyone else of note coming in.

Anyway Thomas Eisfeld is set to be one of the stars of the Prem next season :barscarf:

It really is amazing what goldfish brains Arsenal fans have! It's a delicious experiment really, to test the extremes of human stupidity and gormlessness: let someone in power repeat the same lie to you, over and over again; and see just how far a supine human mind will digest the same repeated lie hook, line and sinker.
Governments have been doing this to uneducated masses for years, and now Wenger and Gazidis are doing it to the apologists.

'Maybe Arsene won't increase any of the offers he has already made'

So said an AKB.
We are in May. Early May.
Arsenal have had one of their worst seasons in years.
Defence is a shambles.
The transfer window not even open yet and Wenger is already 'refusing to increase offers'?

Yeah. With succulent offers like the £10 million he offered Valencia for Juan Mata, it's a wonder why other clubs won't just bend over and accept whatever crumbs Lord Wenger throws at them.

In fairness, I think the vast majority of fans have caught on now.

And what you're mistaking for AKB is actually a desperate fan who is trying to be optimistic about the summer even though they're not exactly brimming with confidence that anything will change :(

That's the camp I'm in - I know Wenger isn't going anywhere, and I know the board aren't either... and I've reluctantly accepted that... so, I'm just praying that something sparks a change, and we'll bring in a quality player or two + keep Van Persie.

Do I really believe it? well, no - all evidence suggests otherwise but I've always been an optimist rather than a pessimist, so all I do is just HOPE for change. :(

I'd say that makes 99% of fans on here 'realists' even though you label people AKB as if it was going out of fashion.

I'd say extreme AKB are few and far between these days. Even most of those who sing "one Arsene Wenger" are probably more realistic about us than you'd think. People just get carried away and sing it when we're in one of those rare veins of form

I just hope this summer isn't half as miserable as I'm expecting... so fingers crossed we bring some quality in.

Call me a cynic but could this have anything to go with shirt sales in the Far East?
Kagawa is a top class player.
Good job he is top class and not super quality!

Please. Please. You seem a smart man.
So tell me you were joking.

I mean, you think 'most fans are catching on' now?

Testament to the intelligence of the average Arsenal fan that it has taken 7 years!

The other point I want to make i=refers back to what I was saying about our fans getting the club and manager they deserve: why are you simply sitting back and accepting this? You as a fan, have the power to change this.

If other clubs manage to get boards and managers replaced, why is Arsene Wenger FC any different?

Bigger clubs than Arsenal have had their fans change situations they are unhappy with.
Our fans deserve the shit we've got, because of the resignation 'I've accepted Arsene is going nowhere'

That's the reason he will go nowhere, for you will shrug and accept it, and keep buying tickets.
If you stopped paying to watch this garbage, things would change.

That's true, absolutely. Fans do have the power to change things... or at least try.

Why do I sit back and do nothing? because that's what most people do. I grumble, moan and lose faith in the manager and board, but ultimately I'm not going to start a fan revolution. I'd consider joining in an existing one, but wouldn't instigate it... that's just not me.

Don't take this the wrong way mate, but USMartin had this knack of point an accusing finger at Arsenal fans where in reality, he'd done nothing either... and, apart from angry posts on here, I assume you've done nothing ground breaking to instigate change either, have you?

And if not, then your question to me ("why are you accepting this?") is surely just as valid aimed at you.
- so, what have YOU done, Baba?

I may not write angrily and I may attempt to look for the positives more than you BUT I've made it clear I'm not happy with the way the club is run and I've said I'd like to see Wenger go... so unless you've done something to make your views known to the board/Wenger, then you're in a similar boat as me, aren't you? (albeit, a much darker moodier boat, but still... )

Good post g88ner

Babatunde did you actually go to the Grove for the sp*rs home game and shout abuse at Wenger in french like you said you were going to before we had the shutdown on the forum? How did it go abusing him like you said you were going to?
