As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

And, as has been been pointed out on many occasions.....it's not his fault that he was selected to play.
He's had a good few years being paid fortunes. We would all do the same if we could.
Well said.
He was plucked from obscurity and thrown in at a level way beyond anything he had experienced.
He made a decent fist of it considering his lack of experience and limited natural ability.
Just think we lost Ashley Cole because we only wanted to pay him £55k per week instead of £60k. And yet this clown was on £60k for the last 4 years. Anyone that tells me we are a well run Club is in a dreamworld. Of Cole was wIth us now he'd be worth £130k per week.
Agree not his fault he was below average but Wenger fault for picking him for so long no slagging down the club saying that or would I for 60 grand a week
Will never forget his pen save against the spuds, or his one man alamo against Barca (h) and United (a) in the CL.
Had ability, but not consistently, and once his confidence went he just became a joke.
Did his best, but ultimately was not good enough for a club like this - but was never his fault. Always admired him for his performance against Barca away a season back when Chez went off....not played for months, away in the Nou Camp, and if not for a shit Bendtner touch - he would have got us through, he was solid that night.
It's shocking that he was at the club for EIGHT YEARS, when it's been clear for so long that he wasn't good enough. I can't believe Wenger ever thought he was world class.

Wish him nothing but luck.
+2. I always admired his dignity too........unlike the useless prick Fabianski whining this season about deserving to be number 1 for club and country and needing to consider his options. Well let me consider them for you too tossbag - if you'd have been born in the Cook Islands I doubt you'd be a credible number 1 for your country.....so fuck off now.
Good luck to Manuel - I will give him a polite little clap if he returns to the Bowl for another club. Was there that night at OT sitting behind enemy lines and was thankful he made the night bearable, unlike wankpot Adebarndoor who spent the entire match wandering around the half way line contributing fuck all
