Anyone watch Panorama just now?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

England fans run a risk of being attacked anywhere in the world...we have a reputation.

But there is a certain extra risk in Poland and the Ukraine for ethnic fans, cannot ignore it.

To be honest, in the current economic climate, unless one is wealthy then it feels better to save cash for a good trip to sunny Brazil in 2014 (not without it's own violent and theft risks in certain areas of course) than to go to Euro 2102.

Plus you get to see BrazilianGooner :D

safcftm wrote:I think the programme was okay. It is worth highlighting to people that if you go to the Ukraine there might be bother. I doubt there will be any bother in the grounds (although Ukraine v England might be blighted by monkey noises, but hopefully not) but away from the ground people will need to be vigilant. There are a fair few black and asian england fans and they in particular will need to be wary, like I say particularly away from the ground although seeing the attitude of the police maybe even at the ground as well. I hope it passes off without incident, but there were fears of trouble in germany 2006 and that was only avoided by the well organised, vigilant German police, the Ukranian and Polish authorities don't look anything like as organised or anything like as determined to prevent racism/ trouble in general. Black and Asian fans having to be extra vigilant, Walcott and Oxlade-Chamberlain's families not even traveling, its a fucking disgrace that these countries were ever awarded the tournament until they cleaned up their act but then being a disgrace is about all UEFA and FIFA are good for- euros here and a world cup in Russia where black players are routinely targeted for abuse, sickening
That's about right. Why the fuck should black or Asian fans be worried about going to football match because of skin colour? Fucking disgusting state of affairs. Thank you Blatter for being a corrupt and utter *word censored*.

If it's sun you want, you won't go to his place in the winter, it gets as cold as london in july. The WC in Brazil will be chaotic , bet on that. To get from one place to the other you'll have a nightmare in the airports. Driving is not an option for most travels and trains do not exist.

He lives in the South and I have seen on TV that it is a bit like Europe there, but I will try to go to the Centre and North too.

Thanks for the flight warning!

If the Centre you mean is Brasilia and Cuiaba, don't. really boring places, shit to do. Northeast will be really expensive but it's really beautiful. And you can, of course come to Rio, i'd buy you a pint :barscarf:

Thanks, is useful.

I would like to see Rio De Janeiro, Sao Paolo, Vittoria and Florianopolis. Plus maybe Recife.

You can see why I am saving up!

Vitoria is a shithole. Belo Horizonte is nicer, even without beaches and all. Recife is amazing, but very troublesome ( violent, chaotic traffic) João Pessoa is, for me, the Jewel of the Northeast. And, as is out of the WC circuit, won't be packed.
