last time was just a flying visit though so sure we missed some of the must visit clubs/bars/restaurants. hence my questions! went to the club in the wynn encore, cant for the life of me remember what it was called, has waterfall and pooly bit in it/outside. pretty good.

will look into the buffet at paris, any other recommendations?

Anyone ever paid for a table at a club, is it worth it, loads recommend it, cant see the point meself!

managed to miss the legendary wynn breakfast buffet last time which i regret due not being in a fit state before midday each day!

Did you go to downtown Vegas (Fremonte Street)? Thats really good with all the old casinos and amazing light shows every 30 mins or so

Also the Belaggio is an amazing place with the water fountain shows. I stayed at the Luxor and its nice but not much to see there. New York New York Casino has loads of rollercoasters and bars it seemed like a real fun place to stay.....

Also anyone stayed in the mgm? if so whats it like. im used to the wynn, its not meant to be on par, but MGM's pretty good isnt it, the casino is ok and it has a nice pool, just not sure on the rooms.

Any advise, gratefully received.
Don't know if you have time TPM but if you can read Hunter S. Thompson's "Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas" before you go....it'll enhance your trip no end! :D

I did hear Fremonte Street can be a bit rough but had no probs when i went there so assumed it was bollocks. The fountain display is well worth seeing. Circus Circus hotel looked run down compared to the new ones when i went and seemed a few gang members a bit further down that end of the strip too, so be careful.

Went to the Stratosphere and there are some mad rollercoasters on the top of that, it really is amazing to see!!! I also went on a night time helicopter flight over the strip that was amazing but if you can afford it the Grand Canyon flights are meant to be good, try to get the night time flight over the strip at least if you can. There was a gunstore apparently that allows you to hire uzi's and stuff for the half hour in their shooting range i really wanted to do that but totally ran out of time

MGM is good, stayed in excalibur before. Vince Neil from Mötley Crüe has a few bars there. Pool parties are the best things apparently.

pools shut in dec unfortunately and its freezing :(

DAN 85, where abouts u going, inland or cali? last sept me and 3 mates spent 2 and a half weeks driving down the coast from san fran to LA. immense, if u have the time and can get he cash together.

flew into SF, slap bang in 'fleet week' couple of hotel nights there, pick up RV drove inland to yosemite, couple of nights there, back across to monterey, carmel, pebble beach. then worked our way down the coast road, big sur, pismo beach, santa barbara, santa monica, malibu, rv park on the beach near LAX for a few days then drove to LV via a night stopover in death valley, and 3 days in LV at the end in hotel. should have carried on to san diego but wanted extra time in LV.

cannot recommend it enough, so many random scenarios, from ending up in a karoake biker bar in pismo, to being scared shitless driving through death valley in the pitch black and seeing the ridiculously clear skys and stars in the pitch balck of night there. to ending up in some rich kid 19 yr old just on the right side of plump blondes house after a night out in manhattan beach!

if ur doing cali and want some tips on places to visit if u aint been b4 let me know!

then again im a yankophile so anywhere american i visit i tend to like and am biased with my opinions! if could afford it would do it all again. great country, great people.

Flying into LA and our route plan is roughly to go up the coast to SF, inland to Yosemite, down through Nevada, area 51, into Utah for Bryce Canyon/Zion, Monument Valley, Grand Canyon, Lake Powell, Vegas, San Diego and back to LA.

Can't wait.

sounds great, ever been b4?

if u can stopover in santa barbara well worth a couple of days such a great vibe there, and good night out too. assume u going up highway 1, u gotta take your time going through big sur country as its stunning, we went thru too quick, would should have had a stopover to explore more, hearsts caste is also interesting if ur in to that kind of thing. if your mildly interested in golf or spectacular scenery, u gotta do 17 mile drive around the monterey peninsula. if ur in SF alctaraz night tour is excellent, especially the sunset over the bay area.
also if ur driving from lv to SD and havent been before id detour thru death vally if i were u, spend a night there, all a bit 'hills have eyes' buts it an experience. we stayed just outside at tecopa hot springs. but if u driving through utah and rest of nevada u probably seen enuff desert by that stage!

where y staying in yosemite? curry village?

If you are going the for the 8th December there is usually decent boxing on in Vegas that weekend (I think I saw hatton v may weather in December a few years ago). Keep an eye on the boxing press for announcements. Even if you are not a boxing fan you will still enjoy a big fight night in vegas :box:

If you are with the lads you should go shooting in a gun shop shooting range. Top gun tours can book it for you and it's a great afternoon http://www.topgunvegas.com/ where you fire uzi's, magnums, ak's etc.
If you are with the lads then go in to the older casinos like bills gambling hall or down to Freemont street. The beer is cheaper and the croupiers will chat to you more and it is all a bit more earthy.

Fountains at the bellagio is a must see.

The rides at the stratosphere are good and the duelling pianos bar in the NY NY is a good night.

If with the mrs then go to see O at the bellagio. Also get the helicopter down into the grand canyon.

I have been 5 times with the lads (mostly for boxing) and twice with mrs goose and friends.

For me Vegas is the place to go!
