Leaving aside my personal dislike of the man, I am still not sure if he would be a good signing - yes on his day he was virtually unplayable but has that day gone ? For long spells of last season and indeed the season before drogba played like he did not give a flying fcuk Did he even score 6 league goals in all of last season ? I know he only scored 13 goals in all competitions in each of the last two seasons.

But, on what basis do you want him back? He'll be 32 in the summer when a transfer would be made. Would you offer him a 2+ year contract taking him up to 34? (BTW, I don't want to hear about how "everybody" wanted Sol) What kind of wages would he demand? Do you think he'll still be good enough at 33/34?

Ok so maybe am phrasing this question wrong: do you feel there is any striker at Arsenal that is currently in Didier Drogba's class? Could he not be given a one year deal?
People talking about his age: has Drogba's game ever been reliant on pace? Nope.
He is reliant on physical attributes (which he very much still has) and brute force (still has it too).

The only good point made by anyone so far relates to the wages he would command. That could be a problem.
But I defy anyone to tell me there is currently a better striker playing for Arsenal? Drogba was still good enough to dismantle Bayern in a final a few months ago, oh and he took good care of Barca too.

Fact is he is better than any striker playing at Arsenal here and now, head and shoulders. His ego is problematic but then again if you have a quality manager, then he would deal with that (just as Ancelotti managed to get the best out of him and Jose did). Unless of course, it's being suggested that the Arsenal manager lacks the cojones to deal with such an ego?

Like I said: if Sol on a one-year deal was 'good business' then how would Didier on a one year not be? He#s creaking for sure but I reckon stick him in this Arsenal team instead of Giroud, for a start Arsenal would be at least 2 points better off. One thing's for sure, a new striker is a 100% must (especially since Walcott will be sold in Jan)
