It seems inevitable. Its easy to get tickets these days, I have a silver membership thanks to my Bond which I purchased in the early 90s so don't miss many games. Given silver membership doesn't cost much I wouldn't expect the waiting list to budge much.
I can understand why people hang onto Silver memberships, me included. It pretty much guarantees you a ticket without the upfront ST outlay and avoids the ticket chasing anxiety that the Reds have to go through. I can remember the Highbury days as a Silver member - hours on the phone and/or t'internet to secure tickets.
Easy money for the club to ramp up the annual Sliver fee, feeding on the reluctance of people to give up picking and choosing games they want to go to.
