As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

While he's not my favourite player, he's certianly a legend and has earned the "wright" to have opinions on the club

Suppose it's better to listen to another interview full of pro-Arsenal/Wenger love by some clueless fuckwit nobody like Frimpong eh?
What Adams and Wrighty won and achieved as ballers is more than any of this entire group of overpaid, overrated and undertalented pile will ever achieve.
FACT
Agreed that it's disgusting that people slate Wright and Adams. As others have said it's down to modern fans not really having a clue of Arsenal pre-1996. However, your comment on Frimpong is harsh. The lad is actually a genuine fan and has spoken before about his respect for players like Wright and Adams. Fair enough his off field antics are an aquired taste but can't fault him as a fan.
I can remember plenty of Gooners who used to slate Wrighty when he was still with us. Mainly down to his bad boy attitude. Most of these were the generation above me who didn't like his brashness saying it was un-Arsenal like. (Chip on Shoulder was used a lot) For me that is what I liked about him. The fact he would always stand his ground against anyone including the FA/Press etc which he did well. Look at the Schmeical comment which wasn't punished at all but Wrighty took plenty of stick for the challenge. The comment was bad as the Suarez thing but even Brendan Batson didn't stand up for Wrighty.
To say this is down to modern Arsenal fans not having a clue is complete rubbish. Modern fans are simply younger fans. Some will be more clued up than others. Same as we we were all young.
An amazing insight into the man who provided so many wonderful moments for myself during the 90's, sort of sad since it illustrates just how much the common footballer has changed over the last two decades, he deserved everything he got in his career.
Nice comments about Rocky also, i would never have known just how much he loved the club too.

Not a dig at anyone mate, I'm one of the young fans to. But admittedly there's a lot of fans my age (17) that are clueless of the past. Though that said, there are plenty of tossers from all age groups
Just looked at the interview, Wrighty is and always will be a legend. I can understand his frustration at current transfer policy but could not stop asking myself, if we had a similar policy then would he ever got is last chance at top-level?
Most likely he would have not got his final chance, I know complete different transfer dealings now, but similar attitudes then would have most likely stopped him progressing.
Respect him always, but a tad of respect for principles maybe? ultimately one Gooner most definitely Club still in his heart
