The What a WUM Gobshite Thread!

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

"In particular I certainly did feel that the defence was heading in the right direction"

You predicted this half way through one of our worst defensive seasons ever? Are you fucking simple?

The defence has improved rapidly in a short period of time THIS SEASON and preseason. Last season they were shockingly shit.

This improvement is probably down to Bouldy telling them a few home truths and demonstrating how to actually defend rather than constantly looking to dribble out of the box.

Bould may well have got them a bit more organised this season but there have been no new additions to the defence this season unless you count the return of Mannone.

I just felt last season that the players brought in such as Mertesacker, Jenkinson and Santos were eventually going to improve things and this is now starting to happen. We also have a fully fit Gibbs and Vermaelen for once.

In my post last season I did say "when the defence was fully fit" It couldn't improve last season because they weren't.

Can one of the MODs change this to "The Red Member tribute thread" so we can all post our favourite memories of our now banned friend

"Of course, if Denilson came back, he would be automatic first choice in midfield"

I fear we'll never see those dizzy heights of WUMdom ever reached again

Stop going on about the 8-2 defeat. It is irrelevant. We'd already won our big game that week at Udinese
