Interesting Blog - Referee Appointments

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

also think that exBolton crap Neymar (forgotten his name - remembered now VazTwaTe) deliberately left his foot in on Mannone
should have got a red card to go with his karmically dislocated shoulder

Not sure about day one, but if ol' red nose can refuse to chat with the BBC for as long as he did, well then :rubchin: :rubchin: :rubchin:

If it was Sky, would he get away with the same?????
Sorry TL I missed this. Yeah probably not from the start but I think he is a playground bully. He defo has not treated Sky in the same way altho I remember him being brought to task a couple fo times over post match interviews.

Either way I think there is questions to be answered as regards his criticism of referee's and subsequent failure of the authorities to appoint same referees on a fair basis throughout the league.

As regards reporters not questioning this. Could it be as simple as people afraid to broach it with the fear of their newspaper being punished by red nose or Manure thru access and so on ????

You can also see the Great wall of China so should we have Chinese refs here? :banghead:

There is no conspiracy just referees that aren't up to the tough job

You've done well not to mention the gormless Neville twats being given a carte blanche to kick seven shades of shit out of Reyes. Every fucking year at OT their tactic was just to kick us off the park for the first half and every fucking year they were allowed to.

Don't buy into a conspiracy at all, just that the FA are clearly scared of upsetting Ferguson and hence will avoid allocating him refs he doesn't like which is hardly fair, but that game was a fucking disgrace and a prime example of spineless refereeing. Man United have never, and will never, be shafted like we were that game because Ferguson would have a coronary and still be spitting feathers about it in Hell.

the blogger is a Liverpool fan, there's no specific suggestion of a conspiracy at all
let alone against us or Liverpool (been a while since either club challenged ManUre)

the reality, backed by stats, is that refs that Fergie criticises dont get ManUre games
this inevitably impacts refereeing standards - I dont think the refs are bought
I just think Fergie knows he wants Webb every week (loves ManUre) and never wants Dean (loves the underdog)
but he doesnt have to pay for it
Fergie gets what he wants from the man who picks the refs: Mike Riley
Riley was an even more proManUre ref than Webb and always gives sirMeatface what he wants

I see cause and effect not conspiracy
the refs want the big games - get it 'wrong' v ManUre and you're punished
just means all the 50/50s go their way

SlurAlex has successfully bullied refs, TV stations, print media and players (from imaginary international friendly injuries to 10% extra through fear of the hairdryer )
he's a genius for getting away with it

It's a joke we have so few refs which allows bias to flourish
and this 'not up to it' argument is BS
are you seriously trying to tell me it's 10 times harder to be a Prem ref than a Prem player??
