Wednesday v Leeds - Kirkland assaulted by 'fan'

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

If it was NBA basketball the whole team would have been in on the action a la Pistons Vs Pacers Vs Detroit fans back in 2004

He went down like he'd been axed instead of pushed in the chops ,He should have kicked the shit out of the twat.
This Guy will get serious bird unlike the guy who ran on at WHL and tried to punch Lampard out he got off because he was a trainee architect not to mention one of their yoof mob that attacked the George .
Leeds have never been any worse or any better than Northern clubs in general for me ,in fact I think they used to be handier away from home . Once ran 2 coaches there and emptied them by surprise in front of the Peacock instead of the Coach Park causing utter mayhem ! Bieng Yorkshiremen though you have slap em before they buckle but they go down just like any other human bieng.

Quite surprised he could even stand up seeing as he drank so much. No wonder he had a little slip up on exiting.

I think there is a difference between how firms view other firms, and how ordinary fans (scarfers like myself :barscarf: !) view other ordinary fans. When I was going to most Arsenal games in the 80's Leeds were always seen as fairly scary opposition especially away. Only went to Elland Road once but that just confirmed my fears....whereas I was quite happy to go to Merseyside, Manchester and Sheffield. They could be rough enough (any game in the early to mid 80's was rough enough....), but not as intimidating as Leeds.

But firm to firm is different. It's what allows an otherwise insignificant irritation of a club like Stoke to gain a reputation on a par with a Cardiff or a Chelsea. In truth, I only really travelled with the Arsenal firm on two occasions - Coventry and Man United. Both times I realised to my horror ( :box: !) that I was part of what I subsequently assumed to be pre-arranged meets (the latter being at Oxford Road), and both times it gave a very different impression of a clubs supporters than I'd had as an ordinary fan travelling up by car or football special.....

Oxford Road ,lol ,I can assure u it wasn't a prearranged meet more like a planned ambush in revenge for us embarrassing them at Deansgate the previous year.
How else do you explain why the train driver waited there for an age on aqn empty platform until the mancunian hordes came out of the pub gathered up came into the station and across the bridge and down those stairs .
Or the fact that the previous train had 150 on it ,they picked their moment .
Remember mk that there were no mobile phones or internet in those days so it has always been assumed that the cockneys reds phoned in advance to tell their pals we were coming.
Unfortunately we were the late arrivals numbering about 25,/30 andmost very young .Still they should have hammered us but did'nt ,a minor scuffle really but they have always claimed it is some massive result ,delusional people.

If memory serves me right I think my involvement was more blending into the background than fronting it out....

Apologies if this does sound a bit "Uncle Albert", but my funniest experience of Man Utd was having the cockney reds wait for our football special (at St Pancras I think) returning from a Northern away game. The first few off the train ran back, but the older ones - me included (for once!) - chased them up the Euston Road. They took such a hammering that night that I often wondered why they bothered in the first place..... Especially embarrassing for them given that the guys that gave them the beating were just normal fans.
