Roll the clock back a decade and this was THE fixture I looked forward to more than any other. These days I dread it more than any other, as with the exception of last year's shambles, its become such a tepid affair - play a lone striker, pop the ball around looking comfortable for 30 minutes without really threatening, inevitably concede to their first meaningful attack, more often than not concede a penalty, limp home without having made their keeper make a save
As others have said on here this Man U team are far easier to beat than Fergie's best teams. The keeper is vulnerable, the defence is creaking and patched up and the midfield contains mostly ageing plodders. All of those things were exposed by Spurs, Everton and Braga.....and last season by Everton again in the 4-4, just about everyone willing to give it a go in Europe and City. But rather than be bold and go up there with Walcott and Podolski up front in a 4-4-2 we'll go with Gervinho or Le Chapman plodding around on their own, allowing the likes of Evans and Oldman Rio to barely break sweat, and Ferguson will need only 20 minutes in the game where Valencia and anyone else prepared to get down the flank to run at Santos and the game will be lost before you can say "Overall, I believe that....."

Despite the disgracefulness of last year it was still the most I've ever seen us create at Old Trafford. The first time we've scored twice there in the PL or something like that as well? Their defence is hugely vulnerable to any half-decent attacking outfits, and the way to approach it would be similar to the Liverpool game: solid at the back and back ourselves to have enough quality and pace going forward to create chances and score a goal or few. Unfortunately it's a completely different kettle of fish doing it against United and we'll inevitably have lost the game before it even kicks off.
As if the line-ups and tactical differences weren't enough of a barrier, it appears RvP is being given free reign this season to behave as violently as he likes on the pitch and that refs are determined to ensure United win their big games. Every fucking season the same thing happens.
The most predictable kind of 2-0 too. They score with first effort on target - loads of halfway line possession from us before a hopelessly exposed fullback allows them to run in a second goal.
Then they take their foot off the pedal with bigger games in mind and spare us the hammering of last year

Anyone see the list of opponents manure have for their next 6 games ? Us, villa, norwich, qpr, reading and one other shit team is their next 6 games so I'm sure they, like us all, will be expecting 18 pts from these games
