Why not? There's no forehead available (and even if there was does he represent a decent central striker?). Which leaves either the Chamster or Giroud - heaven forbid, Wenger might even pick up on the fact that the two of them both played well the other night.

What's the point of a guy playing himself into some confidence and then just cast aside again? Similarly if Eisfeld is performing to that standard every week in the reserves he should get his chance soon if Ramsey is to be dropped

And if its comparisons to old bangers that people are chosing to make on here when describing the pace of our strikers then Giroud is more 1982 Datsun Cherry in that regard

I agree. Our best hope here is to bank on our midfield 3 pissing all over them (that doesn't mean we have to play the same tactics re wingers etc but I'm not sure I'd go 2 up front here)

reckon we'll play
Szcz
Bac BFG Verm Santos
Tets Jack
Santi
Rambo Giroud Podolski
with midfield dominance in mind
I imagine both managers game plan involves us having a lot of ball

If he doesn't play with 2 strikers - which we know he won't - then as a minimum he needs to play Walcott as an advanced midfielder. FFS - sticking Ramsey out wide again will do my bloody head in

The Chamster and Walcott's confidence will be flowing and neither of them will probably play :(

Surely contradicting yourself, if "rambo" (don't make me laugh) starts we will be more fucked than we will if he stays at home, but fucked we will be no matter what.

I would err on the side of caution with regard to playing two strikers against the mancs but I would play theo, and if we do go two up top in home games then theo for me has to be one of them, giroud and chammy together are not pacey enough and too similar in style.

Play giroud/chamakh with theo and you will have someone who can hold the ball up, win flick ons etc to utilise theos blistering pace and like him or not the lad can finish.

I would play theo against any team that takes the game to us, that way theo gets a lot more space in behind imo.

At the end of the day who fekin else have we got to play up front who has pace and can finish...........

Theo against evans and rio, all day.

Ramsey should start on the bench for this. The following should start, whether it's a 4-3-3 or 4-4-2, and then if needed, change to a 4-2-4 later in the match if we aren't scoring.
sagna-mert-verm-santos-cazorla-wilshere-arteta-theo-giroud-podolski (Pod could join the midfield and leave theo and giroud upfront)

Don't care so much where they start on the pitch, but the freedom of movement with those attacking players could be fantastic!

Not been on here since the Reading game for which after witnessing, I feel I have aged 5 years and probably feel like I should have taken the rest of the week off work.... F*cksake no one deserves that...What I will say is that I saw fight in that team, I saw Giroud/Chawack finally play some football, I saw Walcott as a player worthy of 100k-a-week. And yes its only Reading, yes its only the Mickey mouse cup, but f*ck it I'd take it...

That Thomas Eisfield looks like some player, why is Wenger not fast tracking him into the side?

...Some may call me an eternal optimist but I’ll stand by what I say and believe we CAN get into this "Title Race" this season. I realise years without trophy is far from acceptable, A club of ARSENAL’S Stature!! but I have belief in this set of players as some/most do not share the same mental scars of those other flops (of arguably our best team in 2008-09)....
Now we have at least some winners in our team:
Podolski - German Winning mentality won Bundesliga
Santi - World cup winner (even if he didnt play)
Giroud - Won Ligue 1 with Montpellier
Meteracker - Ok, not won anything (to my knowledge), but still has that Robot German Mentality which I hope will spread throughout the team...

I feel there is a good balance/partnerships with the foreign contingent in the team which is key in keeping the harmony:
Santi / Arteta
Pod / BFG
Giroud/Kozza/Diaby
Then of course the English/British contingent of Ox/Wilshere/Walcott/Rambo...

I'm not saying we will win the Premierleague this season, what I want is our team to show some fight, some balls and stay in the race this season, give us some hope. Mark my words, we WILL win something this season (BOLD statement I know but I'm standing by it).

What I'd give to win Saturday, would be amazing, and if our tactics are right we can beat them, no doubt about it. That's in Wenger's hands, lets hope he gets them right
I'm sending out some positive vibes because all I’m reading (understandably) are people dwelling on the pain of the past (of which I share, But its time to look ahead, and look to the positives!!!

Damn I'll feel like a knob if we dont get something on Saturday haha, let's just wait and see...

I'm confused I heard on TV that Arsenal have a problem for Saturday because Gervinho is missing...I just don't understand that statement, seems to contradict itself.
Not looking forward to this at all, don't particularly rate this United side but they are ahead of us and could destroy us again. That grinning :censored: Rooney annoys me when he scores as he usually does against us. I overheard a plastic Manc say that "Fergie will probably put out the under18 team just to piss Wenger off" That sums up the majority of the fools that follow United in Dublin. Them and the victims are the worst to lose to. Sadly I can see that happening Saturday.

Szczesny not fit. Shit as he's been for the last 9 months or so imo he's still a huge improvement on that big-nosed prick
