You say that, but I was talking to a United fan at work, and he reckons we DID win the important game of the week... 7-5 vs. Reading.
As he rightly pointed out, after 7 years of winning nothing, it's absolutely essential we win a trophy this season, so beating Reading keeps that hope alive, whereas we've got no chance in the world of winning the league regardless of whether we won or lost against United.
Sadly, I agree with him - Reading in the mickey mouse cup WAS our big game

van Staplecunt felt sorry for us all game. I'm not surprised, he must have been embarrassed after taking a huge swipe at the club and the quality of the players when they then treated him like a demi-god in the tunnel before the match. He didn't have the heart to score a hat-trick, which he could have done easily if he didn't shirk the penalty by feigning injury, miss a one-on-one he'd normally score in his sleep and retreat to a deeper role at 2-0. I'd rather him have been really fired up to stick it down our throats than pity us, it sums us up atm
Dont know if any of ye saw the interview with wenger that was shown pre match on sky - in the interview he was asked about his relationship with ferguscum and my reading of what he said was that the have a mutual respect but in the past it wasnt like that when we were both contesting the major trophies He as much as admitted that (a) we are an irrelevence to manure now and (b) we are no longer contesting for the big trophies
Now I know that most of us have been saying all that for a long time now but for our manager to admit that publicly is so contradictory from his prior statements Maybe others heard that interview too and have a different reading of it than I do

Yep, it's easy to have a go one player and make him the convenient scapegoat (even if he is a useless and a twat). But there is a disease at the club and it's the reason that we won't be challenging anytime soon.
Unfortunately, some Arsenal fans still believe that if we had a bit more luck with injuries/refs weren't so nasty to us, then we'd be up there. We won't because of the rot running through the club. You have to remove that first before you can then progress. All we're doing at the moment is treating it but it's still there.

....and the most predictable bit of the article - yeah blame it away on cultural difference, there's a thing. Well in my culture mate the bloke is a fucking prize prick. If people want to forgive this goof up to them but I will never cheer the bloke's name again or give him any praise whatsoever in his career as an Arsenal player. This different culture thing is such a load of bollocks! Firstly, he's one of the first i've seen doing that, secondly, when Brazil lost to France in 2006 and all the players were cuddly after the match, they got hugely bad press for that!
