Ticket Pricing, Empty Seats, Box & Club Level Empties
Re: Empty Seats/can't sell tickets
the west ham game is single seats so don't read too much into the "general sale" title. how many people don't turn up...that's another story.
Re: Empty Seats/can't sell tickets
Vs Liverpool is on general sale, i remember a day i'd have to scrap for 2 tickets to see that game...and now its on general sale. But no matter, since my self imposed ban on spending money on anything Arsenal related is still in place, im sleeping a lot better at night. Not that my lack of spend make any difference to the club..but i do feel its the only way to go!!

Re: Empty Seats/can't sell tickets
I've been offered tickets by STs for nearly every home game this season. Probably only the Spurs game was the one where all the guys I know wanted to be there. Even the games against Chelsea, Liverpool, and ManUre are met with apathy these days, and who can blame them?
One win against the top six this season and we all know what will happen when ManUre roll up in pursuit of the title - it'll be a walkover with them 2-0 inside half an hour and maybe taking their foot off the gas if they've got a big European game coming up. Same old, same old
I've also had offers to share an ST or even to take one over for a season next year. These are not from JCL type fans that have only supported Arsene FC since 1996 either; these are fellas that have been going in some instances since the 70s and many from the 80s. From a group of around 15 that I know as good friends, only 5 turned up for the Swansea replay. Most are far less anti-Wenger than I am, but almost to a man they are fucked off with the way the club is being run. The lack of transfer activity in this window and the Summer will be the final straw for many
This is what happens when you mismanage people's expectations and has been my main point ever since we moved grounds. Nobody has a right to expect their team to be successful, but nor should they tolerate extortionate prices and promises of competing with Europe's elite whilst watching a consistently worsening product and being lied to that every window will see reinvestment in the team. People were getting excited about these new commercial deals that will kick in soon but I am resigned to the fact that not a single penny of that will be invested in improving the squad. If our core business is not to run a competitive football club then can someone tell me what is?

Mate, I know everyone has to start somewhere but can't help but notice that 5 out of your 7 posts have been on the thread you started. And there are chapters on here about each point you've made. I'd encourage you to have a good read and catch up on what people have been talking about for months/years....gra001 wrote:I was been kind!!! so so fed up with it, need the GOONER MAG TO DO SOMETHING Organise a march like theTop Londoner wrote:tbh it looked like thousands rather than hundreds just recently mate.
Black scarve movement...
As for organising a march....not sure there is a need for the gooner to organise a march "like the BSM...". Surely it would achieve more if we could get the aims aligned (albeit I'm not sure that the mag would see itself as a protest group as such?) and have one joint march rather than fragment. The club would certainly want to divide and rule and must love it when they hear of infighting going on over banners etc.
And although I would definitely agree re-attendances I do think you have to see things in context. Anyone who saw any of the FA Cup 3rd round games would have been struck by the number of empty seats. For us to have even 40,000 turn up at the Grove for the replay against Swansea was a great achievement. Ok, so there were empty seats. But in a way that is just the consequence of having such a big fucking ground.
I for one never thought we would sell out 60,000 on such a regular basis when we moved across from Highbury and amazed that we kept it going for as long as we did. Maybe the current struggles have seen some of the newbies disappear, in which case it is maybe no bad thing.
I would love to see us offer cheaper seats for cup games, and the first step towards this might be to end the stupid practice of having 7 cup games added to the Season Tickets....!
Anyway, welcome to the forum....

Not sure it is the best thing for a magazine like the Gooner to organise it's own march.
Far better to report on what others are doing, present the pros and cons, and then let readers decide.
Many on this Forum are behind the BSM aims.

Re: Empty Seats/can't sell tickets
Thank's for your reply, and i'm sure there have been points been mentioned before months/years/ however there's
nothing like a reminder on how we "feel"..
You mention about empty seats at cup games, which i fully agree with you.The ticket pricing perhaps should be half the cost, this way fathers/Mothers can afford to take there kids to the game as they are theNEXT generation of Gooners.
What worries me when i speak about empty seats, i'm talking about Premiership games, we have thousands upon thousands on the waiting list, i'm sure these people have either Red mem or Silver mem, so why are they not buying the tickets,? even on general sale premiership games were not selling, because GOONERS are fed up with what is happening there!!!!! Perhaps this is the WAY to show the OWNERS and directors of the club how thing's are!!! i won't hold my breath on it!!!!!
And yes good to be on the Forum!!!

Click on a random page on a random thread and there will be a list of reasons as to why people don't want to pay extortionate amounts to watch us any more!gra001 wrote:Thank's for your reply, and i'm sure there have been points been mentioned before months/years/ however there's

Re: Empty Seats/can't sell tickets
My understanding is that season ticket holders can only sell their tickets via Ticket Exchange once a game has sold out. So you end up in a situation where a relatively small number of unsold seats in the upper tier prevent potentially hundreds of lower tier tickets coming back on sale....gra001 wrote: What worries me when i speak about empty seats, i'm talking about Premiership games, we have thousands upon thousands on the waiting list, i'm sure these people have either Red mem or Silver mem, so why are they not buying the tickets,? even on general sale premiership games were not selling, because GOONERS are fed up with what is happening there!!!!! And, unless they have changed it, I don't think Family Enclosure ST holders are allowed to sell their tickets via Ticket Exchange under any circumstances, even when sold out!

Re: Ticket Pricing and Empty Seats - Fans have had enough!
Said it for ages, the clubs are shooting themselves in the foot by turning their backs on their loyal supporters in favour of chasing the more "desirable" supporters. Don't get me wrong, a lot of the lads who can afford the £1,000+ season cards will be good supporters but many more won't be and their numbers will drop off rapidly the longer the "drought" at Arsenal continues. All clubs will get it, they'll get fans who are sucked in by the Sky hype, they'll fleece them whilst disregarding their real supporter base and when the Sky brigade move onto the next "in thing" the clubs will find that a lot of their traditional supporters have fucked it off in favour of the pub and won't be back as the "match day experience" has become a watered down, plastic version of its old self. The bubble will burst and the clubs will regret their short term profiteering, alas many of the people involved in it now will have already lined their pockets enough not to give a fuck.

People talk about this bubble bursting. I'm sad to say I don't think it will. Don't see how with 95% stadiums sold out in prem each week on tv money only going up
Re: Ticket Pricing and Empty Seats - Fans have had enough!
For a start it'll burst because even with all this money coming in the clubs can't help but waste it all, for supposed "businesses" as they like to tell us they're pretty shite at actually turning a profit (tbf Arsenal being one of the exceptions). Big clubs like Rangers fucked, Portsmouth fucked, plenty others just getting by and others absolutely relying on their sugar daddy staying interested, its not sustainable until they start managing their finances properly.YellowRibbon wrote:People talk about this bubble bursting. Then there's the simple fact that the PL is getting more and more predictable and less competitive and a lot of people are already getting sick of it. Clubs are gambling by offering huge sums to players etc but there are only so many seats at the top table, once the fans get sick of paying through the nose to watch sanitised shit that (a couple of super rich clubs aside) they can't hope to succeed in the attendances will start to suffer.
Nothing lasts forever, push people to the absolute limit they'll pay and eventually its bound to burst and its no surprise that a lot of the fans who have been lost along the way will be lost for good.
