Re: Ticket Pricing and Empty Seats - Fans have had enough!
It'll be the last home European game for a few years that's why!!

Re: Ticket Pricing and Empty Seats - Fans have had enough!
After writing to Ivan Gazidis, he got one of his minions Angus Kinnear (Marketing Director) to respond to BSM's concerns over ticket prices.
Makes it abundantly clear that as long as the money is coming in they don't give a fuck about anything else. Fact we're still selling out makes it obvious fuck all will change. Many thanks for your recent email and letter to Ivan Gazidis. He has asked me to respond to you on his behalf as I am responsible for many of the areas you have raised for discussion.
We fully recognise the concerns of fans in the current economic environment and this was central to our thinking when we introduced the new match categories at this season. Our primary aim was to create more tickets at cheaper prices for our supporters, while not reducing our ticket revenue. This was a delicate balance to strike and we worked with AISA and the AST to find a way forwards which resulted in 90,000 cheaper tickets being available for Premier League matches this season. That is in addition to the low prices we offered for Capital One Cup games. I can assure you it did not result in an increase in ticket revenue.
While we understand the debate around the higher price level which was created for A category matches, we are confident that our overall approach is working. We are selling out all matches more quickly this season than previously and the fact we quickly sold the tickets returned by Manchester City within a few days shows the continued strong appetite to watch our games. I would also point to the fact that while we never want to see any empty seats, the actual occupancy of the stadium has been higher this year than last.
With regard to your question about the Swansea FA Cup replay being a category B game when the league match was C, you raise an important point and this is something that we will look at for future seasons. Your point with regard to our motives is unfair. Our ambition is to build a successful team, capable of winning trophies to make our supporters proud. We all recognise the passions and loyalty of our supporters and this impacts our thinking on a daily basis.
We have a number of initiatives in development, in consultation with supporters’ groups, to improve the experience of our fans at home matches and will be announcing further news on this in the coming months.
Best Regards
Angus

Really? My impression from looking at the ticket page is that it is taking longer and longer for games to sell out. And an increasing number of games don't even sell out. Maybe though this has been more in the build up to Christmas and the start of 2013.We are selling out all matches more quickly this season than previously......
This surely is a shamefaced lie. No way are we seeing higher attendances this year than last. I'd love to see the actual figures which back this up!.....the actual occupancy of the stadium has been higher this year than last.

Aye, they're doing a cracking job there then! Must admit the whole reply is a joke, basically saying "don't worry if you can't afford the big games any more, you might manage to afford to watch us at home to Wigan". The fact is that the core support for a club should not be getting priced out of season tickets, fuck going to one or two category C matches, fans want to be able to support their club at every home game and its obvious that Arsenal (along with many others) have priced many of their most loyal fans out and couldn't give a fuck about it.northbank123 wrote:Your point with regard to our motives is unfair. They seem to make the attendance figures up anyway so no doubt they've announced them a bit higher than last year, like nineteen eighty four when they keep "raising" (lowering) the rations, its all corporate bullshit and spin nowadays at PL clubs.MK Gould wrote: This surely is a shamefaced lie. Just heard on the radio that from next season when the new TV deal starts every club could reduce the price of each ticket by £32 per game and for every game and still have the same amount of cash they have earned this season

Re: Ticket Pricing and Empty Seats - Fans have had enough!
Yep. Or they could spunk higher wages on equally mediocre players and pay an even greater king's ransom to an agent and end up just as fucked financially as they are now despite the extra revenue. I wonder which way it will goflash gunner wrote:Just heard on the radio that from next season when the new TV deal starts every club could reduce the price of each ticket by £32 per game and for every game and still have the same amount of cash they have earned this season![]()

Re: Ticket Pricing and Empty Seats - Fans have had enough!
The corporate factor - all of a sudden I've had rugby follower chaps from the office asking me if I can get 2 tickets for this to take a client to etc.MK Gould wrote:Just noticed that our category A game against Bayern Munich has sold out - a month in advance....!
The upper tier will be full of talk about the latest exciting developments about who made partner that month or the latest skiing holiday
Re: Ticket Pricing and Empty Seats - Fans have had enough!
First of all good that you have a campaign going, keep on with it.MK Gould wrote:Just noticed that our category A game against Bayern Munich has sold out - a month in advance....!
I think we have to take it to the international Level also.
Those games are the once everybody is looking at.
Cheers,
Thomas

The emphasis on "could"..... Anyway, I think we've already spent ours on Theo....:flash gunner wrote:Just heard on the radio that from next season when the new TV deal starts every club could reduce the price of each ticket by £32 per game and for every game and still have the same amount of cash they have earned this season![]()

£32 x 19 games x 35,741 average PL attendance = £21.7m
We'll be lucky if they hold prices as they are.....not a chance they will go down!!! But I hope I'm proved wrong....
Re: Ticket Pricing and Empty Seats - Fans have had enough!
Fantastic news!! That means our upper tier tickets for Category A games will come down to just over £70 each.....bargain!!Just heard on the radio that from next season when the new TV deal starts every club could reduce the price of each ticket by £32 per game and for every game and still have the same amount of cash they have earned this season

Seriously though, no CL football next year, possibly no european football at all, if they don't drop prices then they will see crowds drop.
