TA6's book was excellent. You really got inside his head reading that. Pires' was a decent read on holiday but has been revised and updated since I read it. The best two sports autobiographies I've read are Brian Cloughs and Ian Bothams. Cloughs is a real good book that gives you a great insight into the circumstances that moulded the man. Beefys is great when you get into the 'tour antics' and repercussions thereafter. Would recommend anybody reads those two.
Keegan, Bobby Robson David Platt and Merse all wrote very average books and to be honest I got bored with them. I would never buy cashleys book on principal (unless I was going to dowse it in petrol and post it through his home letterbox in flames whilst he slept).

Stuat Pearce's one was interesting, he comes across quite well and he offers a good insight into the clubs and sometimes problems in England. Was amazing that he never read a book till late on in his playing career

Going off football slightly Nigel Benn's autobiography is probably the best sporting autobiography ive ever read, very easy to get into and some amazing insights into his homelife and things he did when he was at the top and after his boxing days

Definately Captain Tony's book is the one that made the most impression on me. Merse's failed in comparison.

I make a point of not reading any autobiographies until the players career is O.V.E.R.

I don't care what someone in their 20's has to say about either life or football (I'm in my 20's too!) - go away and keep toiling until you retire. See where that takes you. You'll certainly have more stories to tell!

Anyone know if there's a Gus Hiddink autobiography?

Can't wait for a Bergkamp or Wenger one! 8)

Hopefully he won't put a picture of himself on the front or sales will suffer as people are scared away from the bookshop

The best 2 sporting books I've ever read, non football wise, are Jimmy White's autobiography. That guy has lead the life of riley and his brother combined! And also Mick Foley (the WWE wrestlers) bio, convinced me that he is a real sportsman and..... a fucking headcase!

Has anyone read Charlie George's book?

Would love to get it for OH but it doesn't seem to be widely available - not new from Amazon, not available through Waterstones or WHSmith, and I always seem to miss out on eBay or they go for silly prices.
