champions league game fixed

An article about fixed games cannot be allowed to pass without a special mention for this match

UEFA was happy to ban all English clubs after Heysel for 6 years. UEFA has long seen fit to pass comment on every aspect of English football, from foreign players to foreign owners.

But Italian football gets exposed as corrupt and rotten to the very core, and after some pretty modest punishment (all of which was significantly reduced on appeal) from the Italian FA UEFA is happy to see the same clubs, the same players and the same officials participating in its 'elite' competitions a year later.

Sure enough the same problems have been exposed as infiltrating Italian football to an even greater extent. Although the number of games announced as supposedly fixed is astounding, the existence of match-fixing itself is not: what do UEFA actually do? Soft on match-fixing, soft on racism: just a bunch of corporate grey wankers that individually and collectively have no backbone and live the life of Riley off expenses in between taking genuine fans' tickets for finals.

I won't be able to sleep tonight - I've never seen any of that footage since the day other than Rooney's massive dive and it's just filled me with pure bile and hatred.

It's probably a few games involving the mousers because they always seemed to have all the refs on their side for years in the chumps league.

Fucking corrupt piece of human shit. This is the same bloke who is now in charge of refereeing in England and we're supposed to believe that everything is above board?

How long before these staggeringly incompetent refereeing performances start being investigated?

Over time different individual incidents can sometimes fade as other more recent events lodge in the memory bank but looking at that clip just brings back all the anger I felt that day   Any ref can make a shocking decision here and there but that corrupt piece of shit (riley) screwed us time and time again that day and did it with such a carefree manner :cussing: That game not only ended our unbeaten league run but also told reyes that he would get zero protection playing in a league like ours and it was the beginning of the end of his AFC career (although I still maintain henry drove him out of the club).

Regarding the original subject-matter: I don't for a minute think an English club is guilty of match-fixing. Extremely likely to be a foreign club in the group stage agreeing to take a pasting without the English club being involved at all.

Unless I've missed something all they've announced is that one of the matches took place on English soil, not that any clubs or individuals are implicated?

Lads, just be careful about making any unproven allegations against individuals that might get us shut down for libel.

We cannot say, for example, that Riley is allegedly a corrupt cheating lying piece of cheating shit that robbed us of that 50th game because he is a corrupt cheating piece of shit. We absolutely cannot say that, because it could be libelous. We can express opinion though. As in; that Mike Riley is an absolute kúnt. 8)
