Money Money Money

Post by Herd »

The Club have had a fcuk you approach to other shareholders let alone the supporters but there are disturbing signs that the much vaunted Self sustaining Model might be cracking just a Tad .

Since moving to the Emirates one of the biggest contributors to the Matchplay Coffers have been the Box's and corporate seats which have all been a Sell out particularly for the large games often for season after season.

When I left for Asia in 2009 there were already signs that the Boxes were starting to be used for Big games only but one only has to look at Pravda to see how the High end market is in Danger of Imploding on the blind ones .

Never Mind that Blackburn and Norwich is readily available for hospitality packages but now you can even book the mighty MUFC with ease ,something unheard of in seasons past .

The 7,000 or so High end Punters pay more than anyone else in the ground and if these type of punters are voting with their feet or more importantly their wallets then we are in very deep shit indeed !

These high end Punters are supposed to renew in February ............I wonder how many will hold on and see if we qualify for the CL !

It is these very Punters and their money that the club were have been so keen to attract at the new stadium so if we do not qualify and they dont renew ,we are in deep deep financial shite !

you forgot he biggest ever tv deal is starting next season.match day sales only account for something like 20% of turnover and from next season that will drop down to 10% so club aren't so much up shit creek as you think.

More to the point, when will the board realise that lack of investment by wenger and also failure to win anything is the cause of this.
No longer can the club run their lack on the back of our glory years 1998-2004

Sadly they will never address this as they are all under a wenger spell that cant be broken

Platinum Club Level prices have continued to rise, but our economy and defensive standards have declined.

Boxes cost a fortune; they come with a jug of tap water only, other food and drinks are extra.

No surprise that there are empty seats and boxes to be had on a match-by-match basis.

Quartz in the past the Hospitality packages had to be booked over a season in advance for them/utd/chelsea and A grade matches and CL's were always snapped up real quick !

The fact that u can still get MUFC says a lot !

I don't disagree this is an issue for the club, but the club has £100m+ cash reserves, plus the new TV deal kicking in next year, PLUS new commercial deals coming into effect from next year as well, Arsenal FC has never been more financially secure.

Maybe but what sort of message does empty seats and unsold boxes send out to everyone, sponsors in particular?

No need to worry if we've got hundreds of millions sitting in the bank then

Oh absolutely, and I think it would be an unsustainable situation that the owners would have to address, but the fact would remain that the club is in a very healthy position, and no matter where we finish this season, there is NO reason for not spending big in the next transfer window.

Yeah, but you and I and everybody else on here haven't worked half a day in football so what do we know? There may well be no excuse but the shitbags that run Arsenal will find at least three or four.

No excuses Perry, they'll find 'unexpectedly low business opportunities' and 'revenue stream shortfalls' on which to blame their inactivity while the aforementioned shitbags fill wheelbarrows full of cash for doing bollocks all.

They have plenty of cash reserves at present ,which is fine but Match Day receipts and FnB packages are still a very large of the revenue stream and the financial bedrock on which the club is built.

The boost in TV fees will quickly be swallowed by the ever increasing Transfer fees and wages that the top players will now demand, the new sponsor contracts aren't much in the case of the Emirates deal and the Shirt deal wont be so great if we dont qualify for CL either .

I'm not saying we will go bust but reduced revenue will mean even less spending on quality players which is already at record low .
Arsenal today cannot attract the best players in the world even if they wanted to we are reliant on the cast off's and nearly men of the European game.
To date the spiral down has been a slow one, disgruntled season ticket holder's have been easily replaced by Tourists
but the decline will accelerate very quickly if the corporate clowns leave the building coupled with an exit from the CL. The CL brings in not just the 25 million in TV money but millions the corporate mob spend in entertainment on CL nights.
In short the the premium revenue stream which the club are addicted to will vanish, especially if it coincides with easing ticket availability.

The much hyped trips to Malaysia Indonesia and China have potential for expanding revenue streams but you can't bank potential !

For those of you wishing that we don't Qualify for the CL thinking it will get rid of Wenger u better think again as an exit might send us into a steeper decline than you can imagine .
Rather the board might be even more dependent on his ability to shop in the basement as we find ourselves a mid table club that no longer is capable of being a feeder to the big boys

I've not been to a home game for a while so thought i'd give Blackburn a go, even though Cat B is a joke. So i just logged onto the hub....

Because it's now gone to GS, the club have whacked an extra £1-1.50 on lower tier tickets & an extra £2-£4 on upper tier tickets. Add to that the £2.10 booking fee per ticket & £2.20 postage, the cheapest available ticket comes in at just over £40. To watch a struggling Championship side. Total fucking con.
