They used to be worse  :D

And re the complaint about defender/Hooper situation. Let me see if I've got this right. The defender stood between Hooper and the keeper to prevent Hooper from doing to the keeper what he was complaining was being done to him? Hooper was being blocked off to prevent him from blocking off the keeper. :rubchin:

No that wasn't the way it happened - watch the game again and watch the guy put his arms around and in front of hooper to stop him moving at all. Watch the same guy wrestle hooper and the brainless Scott brown to the ground on different occasions and his laughable "collapse" after wrestling brown to the ground was Oscar and bafta award performance   There can be no doubt that hooper was trying to impede Buffon and block him off and personally I would give a free kick to the keeper every single time if I was the ref but last night he never even got the chance to obstruct Buffon - listen to the defender's post match interview where he admitted doing it and stated that Celtic had scored 40% of their champions league goals from set pieces suggesting that was the reason why he did what he did.
In every other area of the field that would have been a free and repeated offences would result in a yellow card and then a red card if it continued and that is what should have happened last night
But the reality is augie is that this goes on in every game, to a more or lesser degree. So, I contain that it should not have happened as you state, last night. Why last night when this kinf of thing goes on in every game. The guy on Hooper prevented him from impeding the keeper - so any claims from Celtic in this case clearly fall on hollow ground, knowing that they were in essence trying to do the same.

Could the ref have penalised more, in general during the game as a whole, probably yes. But on the other hand, a few theatrical dives (sorry, falls  ) from Celtic strikers didn't come off and let's be fair, most teams apart from Arsenal look at the strengths of the opposition and plan accordingly, stretching things or taking advantage as far as they can.

I personally wouldn't have minded Celtic winning and Juventus would've fucked me off if it had been against Arsenal. But to make it such a big deal over and above other league games is misguided, It meant more perhaps, but not really a travesty.

Didn't catch much of the game due to having exams today and tomorrow but from what I read and saw United seemed very lucky to snatch a draw. 1-1 is a good result for them but if I'm being honest I fancied them to get something out there - there is so much tension at the Bernabeu given Madrid's form this year. I reckon Madrid will do them at Old Trafford.

Funny how BBC have banged on and on and on about what massive cheats Juventus are and how their cynical fouls were awful: yet tonight the bloke on live text was effusively praising Phil Jones for committing cynical fouls on the half-way line and basically going round kicking people all game. HMMMMMMMMMMMM :rubchin:

Even when they are 3rd in their league Real still outclassed United today and should've kicked them out. United isn't very good only the poor league makes them look good. If they really can get past Real they will get raped by either Bayern or Barca. Mark my words 8)

There is always a very small chance of something like that happening. I doubt (and hope) we won't see a winner like that over the next few years.
Let's just hope Real can finish the off in the second game.. and after that they can go out, too

Manure rode their luck tonight at times, there is no doubt about that. The talent Real have far eclipses Slur Alexs team as well but what they did well tonight was they played a system that countered all of Real major strengths ie Ronaldo and closing down the space.

The 2nd leg is finely poised but they have given themselves a chance.

I'm not sure manure rode their luck tonight at all - Madrid dominated possession but it was so one paced and sidewards that it could have been us out there   De gea made some good saves but they were all from outside the area and rvp missed a glorious chance to win the game 8) I was complaining big time in the last 30 minutes that Madrid were not set up to win the game and did not try and push the tempo at all - for me I do not understand how the great tactical genius ( ) that is moaninho, could have believed that he could win that game with Alonso and khedeira in the midfield positions  For me he needed to bring higuain on to play alongside benzema not instead of him and he should have brought on modric for Alonso with half an hour left.

All that being said, I still believe that Madrid will go through - I have said to my manc buddies that they needed to win tonight cos being the away team in old shatford will suit Madrid better and will especially suit the likes of ladyboy and di maria

Mh, Real had 13 shots inside the box (compared to 15 outside the box).. I mean they had nearly 30 shots in the whole game.. if they aim a litte bit better in the next game they should go through but funny enough that United could've even won the game.. well that would've really been a game like Chelsea-Barcelona if Real had lost tonight

What a fucking anti climax that was!

It was an ok game, but not the rip roaring classic everyone billed it to be. Thought Madrid were the better team and at times the filth were reduced to just hoofing it clear. Dive-aldo's goal was a great header in fairness but he just strolled around for huge patches of the game. Granny Molester once again showed how average he can be when there is real talent on the pitch. Phil Jones showed how average he is too, fucking lurching around like a slightly less stupid version of Song.

Best player on the park for me was Özil, just calm and classy and he has a wonderful touch and great movement and vision.

And fucking VanJudasKunt missing the sitter cost me my bet (Diver and Judas both to score - €10 @ 5/1). :banghead:

Still, if any fucker had to cost me €60 I'm glad it was that piece of shit that missed!
