It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

It's the digital age mate, and you're fighting a losing battle. You could go live on a kibutz, I suppose?
Kibbutzes are highly connected to the internet these days, though religious ones would have software that blocks certain sites.
I think Augie has to join the Amish, or become a Hasidic Jew.
The only families I personally know where this kind of thing does not happen are Jewish families where the parents have one computer in the house, with an adult software blocker, and stay in the room whilst the kids use it and check every couple of minutes what sites the kids are viewing.
There is no television or newspaper in the house either, and only one radio.
The kids have mobiles, but they are old fashioned ones with calls and texts messages only.
The parents make sure that the kids socialise only with friends from their schools, all of whom live by the same rules.
Even then, could the parents be certain that the kids do not go off and use an internet cafe?
No.
But they have hope that their education and worldview would mean they would not want to.
There you go augie. This is the way to go.
Get yourself 'snipped' and get the missus' head shaved ready for a comfy rug on top.
Go on, do it. You wll still be referred to as a 'yok' though, but it's for the children's sake so it's worth it.

Not by me, and the word is falling out of use, though is not always a derogatory word, depends on the context.

No need for wife to shave head, a headscarf is permitted in some circles.
But if you do want to join up Augie, be happy to introduce you to the delights of a good bit of Cholla with egg and onion and a lokshen pudding!
Though I recommend you try those anyway without the need for surgery or shifting your allegiance
Have to agree with Quartz about the cholla and egg/onion.
Augie, stay clear of the gefilte fish and chopped liver mate.
Btw, what was this thread about anyway?

Chopped liver works, in small doses.
But yeah, gefilte fish is a weird thing and should be avoided!
On the other hand, chicken soup with lockshen, kneidlach and kreplach, and just a touch of onion and carrot, is a magnificent invention.
In all honesty augie your best bet imo is to sit down and talk with them about it (especially the twelve year old), get them to understand the risks etc. As others have said censoring and monitoring never work out very well in the end. The 8 year old might be different, that's still the age where you're well within your rights to confiscate but a diplomatic approach is probably better with your eldest who is only a year away from being legally allowed onto facebook etc anyway.
Sorry to say you're probably gonna have to take it away until you are better equipped to deal with it. Just say there has been a recall on the models and get it "fixed". They'll move onto something else. Maybe get them a basic mobile phone and see how they go with that. Or get them a DS Lite.

best response!
My little one is 11 years young, a girl. She has Laptop, Mobile and Ipod. I can use it and also she still let me look into her tracking records. I would sit down with them and explain the pro and cons, what to do to protect and what not to do. Just show them how easy it is to fake. Create a mail account and just sent them fake emails and show them that they should only trust people if they know them also in real life. Also tell them that they can and should always talk with you about 'strange things' like the SMS you have mentioned.

No seriously I don't think there is much you can do other than take away the ipads.
Also take what they write and receive with a pinch of salt. They are kids and are copying what they hear on TV and in the street and don't fully comprehend it.
Oh! Great the guy comes on here asking for help and you add Sado masochism to his worries as well!?
I recently attended an IT (re-fresher) course and one of the areas covered was IT Security in the home and the main thing that was said to have the best affect on your kids using PC's/Laptops etc was that they be set up in the most public place in the house - Lounge/living room - where they (the users) have No Privacy - It is also one of the ways that parents are able to ensure their children are not being groomed in online chatrooms or not going on dodgy websites et cetera - It is awful and I'm just glad my two kids are now grown up.

Then they'll just use the golden period between them returning from school and parents returning from work to close all the curtains, get on pornhub and ***** to their heart's content
if it's iMessage by the way you can go into the settings and set parental controls up to prevent amendments to the settings, once you have done this you can turn iMessage off and they shouldn't be able to turn it on again. hopefully.
Fuck me, that's a real issue and one I will fortunately not have to face myself. I don't think I could cope with kids at all, I'm really not cut out for that. I guess it would be easier with a boy as you only have one cock to worry about. With a girl you have to worry about every cock in the local area! That would drive me insane. I'd want to kill any person that came within 10ft of a daughter of mine.
Jesus I'm glad I aint got kids.
I'd also be worried about them hacking into my laptop and finding my collection of Japanese amputee dwarf porn. Can you imagine how embarrassed I'd be
